Today we recognize World Health Day

Good health is the foundation of strong families and thriving communities. It’s shaped not only by medical care, but also by connection, prevention, access to services, and everyday habits that support wellbeing.

On World Health Day, we’re reminded that caring for our health — and supporting one another — helps build a healthier future for everyone.

Our team remains committed to providing accessible, compassionate care for our community.

April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month

Parkinson’s disease affects movement, balance and daily life — but early recognition and ongoing support can make a meaningful difference. Raising awareness helps reduce stigma, encourage understanding and connect individuals and families with care.
If you or someone you love is experiencing symptoms such as tremors, slowed movement, stiffness, or balance concerns, speak with your healthcare provider.
Our team is here to support patients and families with information, resources, and coordinated care.

April is Organ Donor Awareness Month

Organ and tissue donation saves lives and offers hope to individuals and families waiting for a transplant. One registered donor can make a life-changing difference for many people in our community.
Taking a few minutes to learn about donation and share your decision with loved ones can have a lasting impact.
Together, we can help build a healthier and more hopeful future.

Hello!

As you may recall, Thamesview Family Health Team developed the Barb Lather Education Bursary.

In her memory and honour, we plan to award a $1000 bursary to a learner each year, who completed a placement with our Team. This will give us an opportunity to celebrate how much our team values the training of future generations of health care professionals.

Applications are due by April 30, 2026. The applications would be judged in May, and announced in June. Please share with any past or present learners/students that you feel would be eligible.

Also, if you are interested in making a donation towards the Bursary, please contact Carrie Savard with your contribution and she will issue you a receipt.

Thanks, All!

Foot Care Awareness Month

Healthy feet are essential to staying active, independent, and well. For many members of our community — especially those living with diabetes, circulation concerns, or mobility challenges — regular foot care plays an important role in preventing complications.
Small steps like daily checks, proper footwear and early attention to changes can make a meaningful difference.
If you have questions about foot health, our team is here to help support your care.
