“Restorative relaxation” is a term I’ve been using on repeat lately when I’ve been chatting to people about my intentions with Euphoric by Kate. The word ‘holistic’ was so important in my tagline - a holistic studio. To me, holistic is understanding the bigger picture, and acknowledging that the mind, body and spirit all play a part in our everyday functionality. Yes, a relaxing head massage in the moment is amazing, but being able to function better in following days; THAT can be life changing.
I try to learn about every issue that people bring to my attention. I want to understand what is happening and why, and if there are ways that I can help. I’ve always been a figure it out/problem solver type. I am, by no means, claiming to be a cure-all, but if I can contribute to the feeling of better days, I’m going to bust my butt to do so. Sometimes writing up service descriptions can be challenging as I so much of what I offer can be personalized to meet each person’s needs.
When a client follows up in the days after treatment with an update of:
“Miracle worker—first time I’ve been headache free for 48 hours in weeks!”
“BEST sleep I’ve had in a decade.”
“I haven’t seen my face look this lifted in years”,
“I forgot what it was like to turn my head freely.”
“My skin is still glowing and my hair is so soft!”
“I didn’t realize how bad things had got until I left your place feeling 15 pounds lighter.”
…I get a rush I’ll never get tired of.
When I talk about restorative relaxation, I think reconnecting the mind and body, decluttering any sense of overwhelm, I think of what can be done now to enhance later, I think of improved function in a take-away container, like leftovers that are even better the next day 💗
