MEMO: Clarifying the $100 ODB Deductible – Know the Facts as we approach August 1st!

Dear Valued Patients,

We understand that some pharmacies are promoting that, as of August 1st, you "won’t have to pay the $100 ODB deductible." We want to take a moment to clarify how this actually works — so you can make fully informed decisions about your care.

❗ THE FACTS ABOUT THE $100 DEDUCTIBLE
The $100 annual Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) deductible applies to seniors 65+ under the standard ODB program.

Some individuals may qualify for the Low-Income Seniors Program, which reduces or eliminates this deductible.

📝 If claims are being made that you won't have to pay the yearly $100 deductible, what is really being said is that by providing you with an Application for Seniors to Receive the Ontario Drug Benefit at a Reduced Rate, you may qualify for no deductible, but it is entirely based on your tax return.

This form is available to ANY senior and is based on your Notice of Assessment from the CRA.

If you meet the income thresholds:

Single seniors earning ≤ $22,200

Senior couples earning ≤ $37,100 combined

You may qualify to have no deductible and lower co-pays.

✅ WE ALREADY DO THIS — AND MORE
Our team is always happy to help you fill out this same application and ensure you're paying the lowest amount possible based on your income.

THERE IS NOTHING NEW or exclusive about this service — but we believe in honesty and transparency when it comes to your health and finances.

🤝 We’re Here for You
If you have any questions about your eligibility or want us to help you complete the ODB application, just ask. We’re here to help — without misleading promises.

Thank you for continuing to trust us with your care.

Chatham Center Pharmacy Guardian, because we treat everyone like Family!

"Locally Owned or Run" Isn’t Just a Slogan—It’s a Way of Life for us at CCP, unlike some pretenders.

Walk down King Street and you’ll see a familiar face. The pharmacist from Chatham Center Pharmacy, stopping to chat with the barber, waving to the seamstress who’s been stitching memories for years, catching up with the realtor just coming from a showing, nodding to the architect with blueprints in hand. This isn't a marketing gimmick—it’s real connection.

A lot of businesses love to call themselves “locally owned.” But how many of them really are? How many are investing in this town—not just profiting from it?

At Chatham Center Pharmacy, we live here. We work here. We know the names behind the counters and the stories behind the storefronts. We support local initiatives, hire local staff, and pay into the community—not just profiting from it.

So when you choose where to spend your hard-earned savings, put “local” to the test.

✅ Invest in real relationships.
✅ Invest in local workers.
✅ Invest in people who know your name.
✅ Invest in a business that gives back.

Support Chatham Center Pharmacy Guardian—Where Community Comes First.
