Our organization was started by the Robert Pope Foundation. We wish to connect individuals who share a passion for arts and nature.

Our goal is to provide a place for conservation based research, healthy living, and artistic expression.

Ice flows are melting fast along the Avon River near Hantsport. Trees on the shore ringed with lichen.

Nice visit with NSCAD visiting artist Rachel Crummey. She uses mad science and creative experiments to grow reishi mycelium through the fabric of her canvas and paint. The results are beautiful and otherworldly, both abstract and real.

Spores and seeds. Amanita mushroom, blueberry, balsam fir, Japanese walnut. I planted these heartnut trees 10 years ago. This is the first year they’ve produced nuts.

Hike to Blue Beach, quick tour of Chris Mansky’s Fossil Museum. Much talk of tetrapods, the first fish dragons to leave sea for land. The only dragon I see is this beautiful Common Whitetail dragonfly.

This Jack-in-the-pulpit was found at the Irving Botanical Garden in Wolfville. Fun to compare with Georgia O’Keefe’s paintings of the same flower from 1930.
