A quick but important share for our community 🌿

There is a national petition calling for Registered Massage Therapy to be added to the GST/HST exemption list, making therapeutic care more accessible and more affordable for Canadians.

Our massage therapists at Cedar & Sea see firsthand how vital this work is for pain, injury support, stress reduction, nervous system regulation, and long-term wellness. We believe that healthcare should be accessible, and this change would make a meaningful difference.

🔥 What Is Fire Cupping?

Fire cupping is an ancient healing therapy rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It’s used to release tension, improve circulation, and draw out stagnation from the body — helping restore balance and ease.

During a session, a glass cup is briefly heated with a flame to create gentle suction when placed on the skin. The fire never touches your body — it’s simply used to create the vacuum inside the cup.

There will be some street closures and filming happening in Chester, this week - Tuesday & Wednesday.

🚗 Access: The crew will allow clients through if you mention that you’re coming in for an appointment and will be leaving afterward.

🅿️ Parking: Street parking may be a little trickier to find, especially in the afternoon as filming continues until dark.

Television crews will be back in Chester on Monday, October 6 and Tuesday, October 7.

Traffic crews will be on site to keep the street open for access to local businesses, but parking will be limited. Please allow yourself a little extra travel time so you can arrive at your appointment on time.

On Monday, filming will include a special effects explosion, so you may hear some loud noises in the area.

🌿🐾 Meet Murphy! 🐾🌿

There’s a new little heartbeat at Cedar & Sea…
Everyone, meet Murphy ~ Jasmine's sweet, calm, happy pup who will be joining us at the studio as he grows. He’s endearing, gentle, and already proving to be quite the little therapy dog in training. 🤍

We know not everyone may feel the same about having a puppy in the room ~ and that’s okay! If you’d prefer your session with Jasmine to be pup-free, just let her know ahead of time, and we'll make sure Murphy is resting elsewhere. Your comfort always comes first.

For those excited to meet him, he’ll likely be curled up quietly in the massage room or popping by for a little hello. Think of him as our newest “collective member” bringing a little extra joy and calm to the space.
