Teaching, for me, has always been an act of service. It’s where love, faith, purpose and experience meet. And while I’m trained in yoga and meditation, I find myself in separation from so many of those terms the more I evolve as a teacher. As so classes have evolved into something deeper, more honest and authentic to who I am. This is also why I no longer am filling this space with a desire to post perfect yoga photos—because my work is no longer focussed on just the aesthetic. My classes are geared towards guiding women and first responders back into their bodies, back into truth, and back into the quiet places inside that the world so often distracts us from.
We live in a culture that keeps us stuck in our heads—pressured, overwhelmed, overstimulated, and often disconnected from our own needs. So my service is to offer a space where each person can soften into themselves and begin to recognize their individual issues and hardships without shame or comparison. Through silence, solace, breath, and gentle movement, I help create a space where the nervous system can settle… where truth can rise… and where each person can feel what’s actually happening inside.
I teach because I believe in personal freedom—physical, emotional, and spiritual. I share knowledge and tools not so people rely on me, but so they can trust themselves again. My classes are a sanctuary for presence, grounding, and remembering who we are individually created to be. Teaching is my offering, my act of service, and my way of helping others come home to themselves—one breath, one moment of grace, one simple movement at a time.
Im distinctly aware of how social media is reducing our attention spans and making us goldfish 🤦🏽♀️, so if you’re (still) reading, I’d love to know — what helps you come back into your body when life gets loud? Tell me in the comments or with a simple emoji.
Like a prayer, hands to serve, prayer purpose and service, Chilliwack wellness, gentle movement does not have to be yoga, yoga as philosophy, wellness lifestyle, goodbye yoga, letting go of what no longer serves me best, women’s wellness, wellness for first responders.
