While this is well-known in the manual therapy world, it’s an important reminder that diaphragmatic dysfunction can have far reaching consequences. Low-grade, comfortable diaphragm mobility work can have profound effects on multiple body areas. For those of you who like to see research on these things, check out this link from a 2015 study that showed pretty dramatic changes from a 5 minute hands-on mobilization. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/279301188_The_Immediate_Effects_of_Doming_of_the_Diaphragm_Technique_in_Subjects_With_Short_Hamstring_Syndrome_A_Randomized_Controlled_Trial

THIS is why I do what I do!!! Reports like this make my heart sing!!! Almost 10 full inches lost in just her abdomen alone. In a seperate message she said she is also down 16lbs as well!!! Zero change to her diet. Zero change to activity levels. All I had her do were SOME VERY SPECIFIC neurology drills that helped recalibrate areas that were severely underfunctioning. That resulted in not only 16 lbs lost, 9.5" off her waist, but considerably less pain, and a good boost to morale.

It never gets old 😊❀🧠

What we put on our eyes can make such a huge difference in how we move, feel and function. Did you know that different color lenses in our sunglasses have the power to potentially alter our mood, our posture, our strength and our ability to move well? It's wild!!

I've seen people put on a pair of sunglasses where their physical response was forward head position, rounded shoulders, posterior pelvic tilt, stiff spine and externally rotated legs. Ouch!!!! Instant neck and shoulder pain. Same person puts on a different pair of sunglasses (or chakra glasses as pictured below), and the right color changed their posture to more upright (easily 2-3" taller!!), head back, shoulders sit more proper, ribs stack better over pelvis, spine regains mobility and legs face more forward.

How does this translate to real life application? If you were a runner and you were running a marathon, do you think running with the first posture would be comfortable? Not a chance! It takes a lot more energy to move poorly, plus it hurts and you move slower. Not a great scenario if you were trying to improve your time. Now, if you ran with the 2nd posture, running that marathon would be so easier. It takes less energy to move well, so the same amount of effort you applied with the first posture would now move you faster and easier with the 2nd posture. You would essentially run faster and have more energy to do it with!! That's the potential for a new PR for time and distance!!

When selecting eyewear, pay attention to how it affects you. Notice those changes in how you move and feel before and after you try on eyewear. I've been able to absolutely annihilate a 10/10 migraine with the right pair of sunglasses!! I went from being in the worst pain ever and being seconds from vomiting to zero pain and hungry within 30 min of putting on the right pair of sunglasses. I knew what were the wrong pair because I felt instantly worse when I put them on. The right pair relaxed my neck, head and shoulders. I felt calm, and the nausea instantly started to fade.

Pretty amazing how a pair of sunglasses can either help you get a new PR in your sport or get you out of mind numbing pain!! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘ŠπŸ’ͺ

I find my eyewear will affect how well I lift. Glasses vs no glasses. And if I wear sunglasses for outside lifting, the color lense can affect things as well!!

Let's talk eyes and movement! Do you find that no matter how well you watch form or how much you stretch, you still can't tap into the potential you have? That your power in your movements isn't where you know it should or could be? Or that certain muscles just won't fire the way you know they should? There could be a visual component going on.

This young swimmer had a very hard time getting her glutes and lats to kick in. And if those muscles don't work, swimming gets VERY hard!!! There's no speed, no power and form suffers badly which can then lead to injury. No one needs that. We did a gait assessment. Her hips didn't move the way they should. Her steps were choppy and there wasnt much power in her walk. We did some vision work, retested gait and the changes were incredible!! So much speed and power in each step! Hips moved the way they should. Muscle groups were ON!! She swam after and the results showed up there too!! So much more power and speed and her form was spot on. Her coach noticed the improvement and was amazed at the changes!!

Vision. If the communication between the eyes and brain are muddled, threat responses kick in and movement and strength can suffer. Let's clear those errors and get you reaching your full potential!! πŸ’ͺπŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈπŸ€Όβ€β™‚οΈπŸ‡πŸŒοΈβ€β™€οΈπŸ’ƒπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ‘πŸ§
