✨ REMINDER: It didn’t work if it didn’t last 🤷🏼‍♀️

❌ The cleanse didn’t work.
❌ The pills didn’t work.
❌ The program didn’t work.
❌ The diet didn’t work.

💡 If it worked, you wouldn’t need to keep going back to it.

📉 Weight loss isn’t about what you can lose in 21 days… it’s about what you can keep off for life.
✨ No obsession ✨ No restriction ✨ No burnout

💰 The diet industry banks on you believing you NEED their “solution.”
You don’t.

🌿 You need something sustainable. Something real. Something that supports your health, your energy, and your peace of mind 🧘‍♀️

🚫 Stop chasing fads.
✅ Start building habits.
🔄 Detach from “what worked before” — because if it truly worked, you wouldn’t be stuck in the same cycle now.

🌱 Let this be the season you stop dieting and start healing.

👉 Drop a 💛 if you’re done with diets and choosing real health instead.

✨ Today I celebrate another trip around the sun — and this year, more than ever, I’m reflecting on how deeply I’ve come to appreciate this body I live in.

Not just how it looks.
But how it moves.
How it feels.
How it carries me through life, day after day.

There was a time I saw my body only through the lens of judgment… picking apart the pieces I wanted to change. But now, after years of learning, unlearning, healing, and growing — I see it with so much more compassion.

This body has grown life.
Held little hands.
Wiped tears.
Run miles.
Carried stress.
Held joy.
And through it all — it’s never given up on me.

And I’ll be honest — it’s still hard sometimes. Even today, trying to take a photo I liked of myself was not easy (and I don’t think I do like it). But. I’m learning to quiet those voices and see myself through kinder eyes. *Progress over perfection — always.

The truth is, health isn’t just about the scale or a pant size. It’s about how you feel in your skin. It’s energy, strength, joy, and being able to show up fully — for your kids, your partner, your purpose.

As I get older, I realise the greatest gift I can give to myself (and to those I love), is a healthy, happy ME. 👉 When I’m nourished, rested, and aligned with what my body needs — I’m a better mom. A better wife. A better human.

So today, I celebrate life. But more than that — I celebrate the commitment I’ve made to honour my health, love my body, and create a life that feels good inside and out.

If you’re on your own journey, please know: you don’t have to do it perfectly 💛 You just have to keep showing up. Your body isn’t the enemy — it’s your greatest ally. And it’s never too late to start treating it with the love it deserves.

Cheers to another year! 🥂

Ok… this is sappy and uncomfortable and I might delete later 🫣 But here it goes…

Maybe it’s Easter. Maybe it’s the kids getting older. Maybe it’s my brother’s would-be birthday coming up. Probably it was just the right song at the wrong moment in the craziness that is 2025.

I was in the grocery store when “One More Time” by Blink-182 came on, and unexpectedly, my eyes welled up.

I started thinking about people I’ve lost touch with — some because of choices I regret, and others because of the social anxiety that ruled my 20s. I couldn’t return phone calls. I overthought everything I said.

Even in nutrition school, I felt like I didn’t belong among the yoga-goddess types. I admired so many of them, but I kept my distance, frozen by insecurity.

There are people I wish I could message — just to say happy birthday. Or apologise. Or let them know they mattered. But I hesitate. What if they don’t want to hear from me? What if I bring up something they’ve already put to rest?

Still, I know I’m not the only one who feels this way. We all carry quiet griefs — for friendships that faded, for chances not taken, for words we didn’t know how to say.

Maybe part of healing is simply letting ourselves feel it — even if we don’t act on it.
Acknowledging our emotions, rather than burying them, has real health benefits. It can help lower stress, support immunity, and protect our emotional well-being. It’s not weakness — it’s self-care. Quiet reflection can be its own kind of release. And sometimes, that’s enough.

But… if anyone from my past ever finds themselves wondering — I think of you often. I only wish you well. And I’d always be open to reconnecting.

There are so many things I wish I could have said to the ones I’ve lost… and so many things I still carry.

“Do I have to die to hear you miss me?
Do I have to die to hear you say goodbye?
I don’t want to act like there’s tomorrow
I don’t want to wait to do this one more time.” — Blink-182

Did you know I have a little spot in our school newsletter each week called “Nutrition Corner”?

As the school secretary and a holistic nutritionist, I love sharing fun, simple ways to help families eat well. Each week, I highlight a different food—like sweet potatoes, kale, or clementines—and include an easy, kid-friendly recipe!

For March Break, I switched things up and talked about snack trays—a lifesaver for parents! Setting out a tray of healthy snacks in the morning means kids can help themselves throughout the day (and you don’t have to hear “Mom, I’m hungry!” every 10 minutes).

I thought this might be a helpful idea beyond our school community, so I’m sharing it here too! Let me know if you already do this or if you’re going to give it a try.

What are your go-to snacks for a tray? 🍎🥕🥨

Teaching kids to see food as fuel for their amazing bodies is so important! 🌈 Here’s how each colour supports us:

❤️ Red foods, like tomatoes and strawberries, help keep our hearts strong and healthy
🧡 Orange foods, like carrots and sweet potatoes, support good eyesight and help us see in the dark
💛 Yellow foods, like peppers and pineapple, are great for healing cuts and keeping our skin healthy
💚 Green foods, like spinach and broccoli, boost our immune system to help fight off sickness
💜 Blue and purple foods, like blueberries and eggplant, keep our brains strong and improve memory
🤍 White foods, like potatoes and cauliflower, give us energy to play, think, and grow!

It’s also important to remind kids (and sometimes adults 😉) that it can take a few tries to get used to new flavours. Taste buds change and grow, just like the rest of us, so trying foods many times can help us learn to love new things!

Instead of labeling foods as ‘good’ or ‘bad,’ we focus on how they help our bodies in different ways. It’s all about balance and making food fun!

There are few things on this planet I hate more than bottled water. Just the crinkling sound of someone wrapping their mouth around one of those squeaky garbage accordions fills me with rage.
