Stress doesn’t just affect your mind , it affects your entire body.

Chronic stress can lead to:
• headaches
• neck and shoulder tension
• jaw pain
• poor sleep
• fatigue
• anxiety
• muscle tightness
• lowered immune function

Many people don’t even realize how much tension they’re carrying until they finally slow down.

Massage therapy helps calm the nervous system, reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, and give your body a chance to reset and recover. Even one treatment can help you feel lighter, more relaxed, and more connected to your body again.

Taking care of yourself isn’t a luxury, it’s part of staying healthy.

If your body has been feeling stressed, tense, exhausted, or overwhelmed, this may be your sign to book a massage therapy session! Your mental health is just as important as your physical health!

✨️Copied from another therapist , but people should understand how much time I spend working vs. The actual income ✨️

People see an $80 massage and think the therapist is pocketing $80. I wish that were true 😂

The reality is that “1 hour massage” rarely means 1 hour of work.

For many massage therapists, 20 to 30 hands-on hours a week is considered full time because of the physical demand on our bodies. And those hands-on hours don’t include:

• laundry
• sanitizing
• charting and client notes
• booking and scheduling
• supplies like oils, creams, sheets, detergents, and tools
• continuing education, that cost us money and we cannot charge more for our services
• self-care so we can keep doing this work long term

On an $80 session, after commission and taxes, my take-home is closer to $39 before business expenses are even added in.

I do this work because I genuinely care about helping people feel better. But I also think it’s important for clients to understand what goes into each session behind the scenes. Every appointment supports far more than the hour spent on the table.

Post 2 of 2 .

FYI, these videos are not the best because I had to try and get them without the client knowing , yes we discussed it before treatment; because if she knew I was taking a video then she would think about it and the tremor would occur more.

My first treatment with this client her tremor (shaking) stopped for 14 minutes. We done a 70 minute treatment, about 30 mins into TX client began to relax , at 45 mins her tremor stopped for 14 minutes straight, then briefly two more times.

Although her muscles are tight my focus was to relax the client , so our treatment consisted of heat, light- moderate general Swedish massage and light Gua sha briefly .

Client advised she felt really good after treatment . My main focus is to relax her enough to calm her nervous system so her mind stops signaling the spasms in her muscles , the neurological aspect of this condition is so interesting!

Our second treatment I chose not to speak to the client (as you all know I love to talk lol), same treatment only this time I used light mobile cupping along with the Gua sha, a 60 minute session. Her tremor stopped 33 mins in to the treatment for the remainder of the session 😁

In this video you see no head movement at all!

Sorry guys, this is too cool not to share !

This was a first for me as I have never heard of dystonia.

Dystonia is a neurological disorder that causes muscles to move or tighten on their own (out of a person's control) . These movements can lead to repeated motions or unusual body positions .

Notice in this video the constant tremor / head movement.

Stress and anxiety are major triggers for dystonia! This condition can be life threatening and affects every day life, the simplest of things like using a pen can be a challenging task .

Although people with this condition have extremely tight muscles, that is not the focus of Massage treatment , the main focus is to stimulate the brain / relax the central nervous system .

This client was actually so cool to see how the neurological side of things affected the physical.

Go to part 2 for treatment and results 😊😊
