🌺✨ Aloha from Palisade Gardens! Yesterday our residents were swept away by the charm of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe impersonators for a dazzling 90-minute show! 🎤🎶

Elvis crooned “Blue Hawaii” 🏝️ while Marilyn gave us a cheeky “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” 🎂💋 — and the smiles in the room said it all!

Thank you to our incredible performers for bringing the sparkle and nostalgia 💫 to our community. What a show! 💃🕺

We had a lovely time visiting the Laveanne Lavender Fields last weekend! Though it rained (as soon as we stepped off the bus), that didn’t dampen our spirits. Residents enjoyed the lovely blooms and smells as we walked through the carefully curated fields. What a lovely trip!

Palisade Gardens is happy to announce we were the proud sponsor of the Cobourg Lawn Bowling Club again this year, who have been organized for over 100 years! Earlier last week we had the pleasure of presenting the Palisade Gardens Tournament Cup to the most recent winner of the club’s annual tournament.
Congratulations to all the winners, as we can’t wait to see you again next year!

Our Montessori gardening committee hard at work! Residents enjoyed the sun, and pruned our garden bed to make sure things are blooming beautifully through the summer. Next stop, herb garden!

Our residents recently gathered to share with others in their community for a special Canada Celebration. We welcomed resident guest speakers to talk about their experiences in Canada, to reflect on their pride, and to share heartfelt stories about their nationalism. We had some excellent entries, and we all learned a thing or two about this incredible place we call home!

What a fantastic turnout we had for our Strawberry Social last week! We played The Price is Right, Berry-Charades, some cognitive memory games, and gave away LOTS of fabulous prizes while enjoying some light strawberry fare (and don’t forget the special punch, of course!)

Thanks to all of our amazing participants and residents who came down to enjoy the fabulous fun that afternoon, and congratulations to our Golden Strawberry Award winners 🏆

Our Harmony residents showed us their great creativity earlier this week and painted some mermaid sea shells 🐚 beach style-in anticipation of our planned visit to Cobourg Beach next month, for a sea side picnic!

What a lovely afternoon it was for some Montessori gardening! Our Harmony residents started planning their garden plot two weeks ago, by meticulously picking out their flowers, soil, and building their pine garden box. We finally got our hands dirty with our fresh soil and planted our beautiful arrangements, and boy were we proud of the final result! Stay tuned for our gardening committee’s vegetable and herb garden that are in the works!

We celebrated Father’s Day in the most sophisticated way we knew how this year: with Jeff Moon’s professional Scotch Tasting presentation, of course!
