Last week Rachal and Naomi picked up their pastry bags for another great cause. This dynamic duo works so well together and they always have lots of fun decorating and packaging Smile Cookies. The two have been volunteering in support of Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaigns for the past few years and have really dialed in their skills. This year they decorated approximately eight dozen cookies during their two-hour time slot at the William Street, Cobourg location. Giving back is an incredibly meaningful experience for many people and we are always happy to show our support for our community.

It's time to shift the focus from autism awareness to autism acceptance - but what's the difference? Acceptance means:

❤️ Neurodiversity is recognized as a natural and valuable part of human diversity which fosters inclusive communities where autistic and neurodivergent people are valued for who they are.

❤️ Reducing stigma and challenging misconceptions which fosters understanding, compassion, and respect.

❤️ Moving away from viewing autism as something to be fixed and instead recognizes neurological differences as natural variations of the human brain.

❤️ Respecting and valuing people's diverse strengths and needs and creating communities where everyone feels empowered to contribute meaningfully.
