Imagine children being raised believing that they're not good enough...

are constantly feed a BS narrative we're not good enough.

So we are programmed to change, augment ourselves in an attempt to feel better.

Today I'm really struggling with a few things... My husband and I rode our bikes downtown Cobourg for a coffee at Black Cat cafe.

We witnessed several instances of an addict(s) laying on the downtown sidewalk and along the beach.

Now it's not just witnessing human beings hitting rock bottom but also other humans feeling helpless in the face of another human struggling and also those humans judging these struggling souls.

I know there is nothing I can do when someone is high.
That feeling of helplessness is frustrating and sickening as it's our human nature to help someone who's obviously struggling.

I also know that these new wave of addicts are predominantly a result of a corporate run society.
Example:
Pharmaceutical companies push Doctors to prescribe incredibly addictive drugs, ***previously banned due to their dangerously addictive qualities.***

How disturbing is it that these drugs are knowingly distributed by an industry we are supposed to trust with our health!? And they are predominantly funded by our tax dollars.

The worst part is they aren't held accountable or even show a shred of ethics by taking responsibility for the damage their products are causing. (This goes for the food processing industry too.)

It's literally beyond criminal.

These aren't your average drugs like back in the day sold by sketchy back alley dealers.

These start as legal prescription drugs distributed by our tax paid 'health' system.
Oh and when the prescription stops, it's too late ....they are dependent. So the doctor stops the prescription and they turn to deadly street drugs.

So when you attack these 'addicts' know like I do... That they can be just like you or I...they can be highly educated humans with healthy families that perhaps injured themselves or are struggling with mental health and were prescribed a deadly op**te - a highly addictive drug. They are literally rendered helpless in the clutches of these op**tes.

I'm tired of the lip service... the constant meetings...the toxic division... The negative impact on our community our streets and local downtown businesses.
