Did you know that using a TENS machine may help manage pain during c-section recovery. 🌟

Here’s how it works:
✨ TENS sends low-level electrical impulses to your skin, which can help reduce pain signals traveling to your brain.
✨ It also promotes the release of endorphins—your body’s natural painkillers.

Why use TENS for C-section recovery?
💡 It’s non-invasive and drug-free, making it a safe option for many new moms.
💡 It may help reduce the need for pain medications.
💡 You can start as early as day 1!

Tips for Use:
✅ Always consult your healthcare provider before using a TENS machine after surgery.
✅ Use it as directed, avoiding the electrode placement directly over the incision site.
✅ Pair it with other recovery tools, like rest, pain medication, comfort measures, and ice packs.

Your recovery is unique, and every tool that helps you heal is worth exploring. 💕 If you know you’re having a C-Section, book with me to discuss how to support your recovery.

🌿 My Favorite Herb for PMS/PMDD 🌸 (Hint: It's the plant in the photo)

When it comes to supporting PMS and PMDD, one herb stands out as a game-changer: Vitex agnus-castus, also known as chaste tree berry.

✨ Why I love it:
Vitex has been traditionally used to help balance hormones and support mood, especially during the luteal phase of the cycle (the week before your period).
Research suggests it may:
•Reduce irritability, mood swings, and breast tenderness
•Support a healthy menstrual cycle
•Help regulate hormone imbalances

Of course, everyone’s body is different, and the best plan for PMS/PMDD often involves a combination of lifestyle, diet, and personalized care. 🌟

🛑 Reminder: Herbs are powerful and can interact with medications or underlying conditions. Always talk to your healthcare provider before starting something new!

"Wondering if you’re ovulating every cycle? 🤔 Ovulation is a key part of your menstrual cycle, and knowing if it’s happening can give you valuable insight into your health and fertility. Here are a few ways to track it:
✨ Cervical mucus changes: During ovulation, discharge becomes clear, slippery, and stretchy (like egg whites).
✨ Basal body temperature (BBT): Your temperature rises slightly after ovulation and stays elevated until your next period.
✨ Ovulation predictor kits (OPKs): These test for the LH surge that happens right before ovulation.
✨ Cycle tracking apps: Apps can help you predict ovulation based on your cycle length.
✨ Mid-cycle symptoms: Some people experience mild cramping (mittelschmerz), breast tenderness, or increased libido.
If you’re not seeing signs of ovulation, or your cycles are irregular, it’s a good idea to check in with your healthcare provider to explore what might be going on. 🌱

We’re going in blind. 😶‍🌫️🫣

Every woman will go through perimenopause eventually — but most are never told what to expect, how it might feel, or what can actually help.

Instead, you're left navigating the changes alone 🤯 — wondering if what you're feeling is “normal” or just something you have to put up with.

I see perimenopausal women every single day 🩺. And let me tell you:

And the best part? 🫶 There are things we can do.
There are tools, strategies, and treatments that work.

You just need the right support — someone who gets perimenopause and actually listens to you.

✨ You are not alone. Perimenopause isn’t the end — it’s a transition.
And you don’t have to go through it blind. 🕯️🛤️

When it comes to supporting burnout, ashwagandha and rhodiola are two of my favorite herbs. 🌱

✨ Ashwagandha: Known as an adaptogen, it helps the body adapt to stress and promotes a sense of calm. It’s been traditionally used in Ayurveda for centuries to support energy and resilience.

✨ Rhodiola: Another adaptogen, rhodiola is known for supporting cognitive health. It can help reduce fatigue and improve your ability to cope with stress.

These herbs can help navigate burnout—but remember, herbs are just one piece of the puzzle. Rest, proper nutrition, and addressing the root causes of stress are just as important.

Always check with a healthcare provider before starting new herbs. As always, this is for informative purposes only and should not be taken as medical advice. 🌿

Have you tried ashwagandha or rhodiola before? How did they work for you?

Parental burnout is real, and it’s something so many of us experience but rarely talk about. 😔 Between sleepless nights, constant responsibilities, and the pressure to ‘do it all,’ it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and depleted.

But here’s the truth: Burnout doesn’t mean you’re failing—it means you’re human. 💛 Recognizing the risk factors, like perfectionism, lack of support, chronic stress, and sleep deprivation, is the first step to protecting your well-being.

You can’t pour from an empty cup, and you deserve the same love and care you give to everyone else. 🌱 Take breaks, ask for help, and remember that “good enough” is more than enough.

Self-care isn’t just about bubble baths, treats, or Netflix binges—those are self-indulgences, and while they feel good in the moment, they’re not always the answer. 💆‍♀️✨ True self-care is an active process that involves taking steps toward long-term solutions, not just quick emotional relief.

It’s showing up for yourself, even when it’s hard—going to therapy, prioritizing sleep, moving your body, eating nourishing food, setting boundaries, or addressing the habits and patterns that hold you back. 🧘‍♀️

Indulgences are a pause, but real self-care creates lasting change. 💪 So ask yourself: What do I need today that will care for my future self, not just my present emotions?

Share below—what’s one way you’ve practiced real self-care lately? 👇💚

Teas are a gentle way to support your sleep! And they’re so easy to add to your night time routine.
🌼Chamomile seems to be the most popular sleepy tea, but there are so many other herbs that are great for sleep.
💜Lavender is a calming herb used mostly for sleep and stress. It’s floral taste makes it a great addition to your nighttime tea.
🌿Lemonbalm is my personal favourite. It is a natural sedative that also has antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties. It is sometimes used in combination with other herbs to help with digestion and PMS symptoms.
🟣 Passionflower has uses in sleep, stress, and anxiety. This is another floral that makes a great addition to your nightly tea.

Honourable mentions:
🤍 Valerian root is traditionally used in disturbed sleep, so for people that wake up frequently during the night. This is an herb that can be added to your tea; however, it’s known for smelling like stinky socks. If you get a store bought valerian tea and it isn’t stinky, check the ingredients list to see what they’re using to mask the smell! 👃
🌱 Kava kava is another calming herb used for sleep, stress, and anxiety. Kava is a more controversial herb due to some poor publicity it received in the past. A lot of these claims have been disproven, but it is still an herb to be cautious with.

As always, this is post is for educational purposes only and is not medical advice. Speak with a medicinal herbalist or a naturopathic doctor to determine which teas are right for you!
