Are you feeling it more than normal this year? Most people I talk to are. It’s harder. Some of that is beyond our control. Some of it we are doing to ourselves. It’s time to listen to our symptoms. They are telling us it’s time for change. I know this work is hard. I’m doing it too. But we absolutely have to do something differently.

Target the Vagus nerve to manage symptoms of anxiety or a racing heart (from stress, not a heart condition). First of all, if your heart races, please talk to your doctor! This post is not medical advice. If you are like me and your heart rate increases with stress, or mental stimulation, this is effective! If you are a manual therapist and have a client on the table who is agitated, stressed, overwhelmed or you can’t get their suboccipitals to chill out…try this!

Manual Therapy Nerd sessions! Very limited spots available!

It's hard to find community in this solo profession, even if you have coworkers. These events will be curated education and peer support sessions. There will be teaching each time that you can immediately apply to your clinical practice as well as time for pertinent discussions and collaborative hands on learning. Come ready to share your experience and perspective as well as learn.

Bimonthly on a Sunday afternoon from 4-6 in Cochrane AB. Schedule TBD. Each session has a $20 cost.

Massage should feel good. To you! It can be firm or gentle pressure, it can definitely still be "deep tissue" massage, but through my lens it never needs to provoke an actual pain response. The most important thing to me is that you feel it's effective and you get lasting change. Let's be making the same assumptions about your treatment!

Think of movement like hygiene. We need to move often, responsively & preventatively. If you are getting sore in specific tasks, especially the daily ones that we need to hang onto, or the ones that let us do what we love...we've got to find ways to keep doing them! Come see me for some creative ways to get up off the couch!

Seriously...This kid got taller than me in a week! I'm not sure there's much evidence that either hydration or adjustment is going to help me stay taller than him for a bit longer, but I'm gonna try!
