After 42 days (yes, FOURTY-TWO of getting zero eggs from 42 hens), and a lot of chats about feed and bedding costs, we finally got an egg!! It may or may not of had to do with the heart to heart I had yesterday threatening the soup pot today lol. I don’t know for sure, but I’ve put out serious threats in other years and mysteriously an egg shows up the next day 😂 😎🥳🙌🏻
I just found it funny that there are 42 hens and they took 42 days off lol 😂

YUMMM!! Pizza dough fermented on the counter for 18 hours and then made pizza tonight. Holy COW it was really good!
I just made a regular pizza dough recipe, let it ferment, then about an hour before using, shape it and let it rest. I then stretched it onto our stone pan, docked it (poked holes), spread avacado oil on it, and baked it at 400 for 18 minutes, took it out and added our toppings (sauce, olives, onion, pepperoni and cheese with Italian spices and then baked it for another 18 minutes. SOOOO yummy! 😋

I was making some granola the other day and needed brown sugar, but we were out. So I took some Redpath non-gmo sugar and added some Crosby’s pure and non-gmo molasses and made some! It’s about 1 tsp of molasses per cup of white sugar. A little more if you want dark brown sugar.
Huh, seems to me if you want non gmo brown sugar… just make it yourself! 🤗😋

Well! Looks like we gained a minute of light! Our chickens will hopefully start laying again soon! It’s been a month without fresh eggs. Good thing we waterglassed some in the spring when we had an abundance!!
