Essential oils are used in aromatherapy for mental and physical well-being. They are used topically, often diluted with a carrier oil, for skin absorption, or inhaled via diffusers or steam to affect the emotional center of the brain.

How Essential Oils Are Used
👃Inhalation:
The most common method is to inhale essential oils from a diffuser or by adding a few drops to hot water for a steam treatment. This allows scent molecules to reach the brain's amygdala, impacting emotions.

💆 Topical Application:
Essential oils can be diluted with a carrier oil (like jojoba or almond oil) and applied to the skin through massage or in other skincare products.

🛀 Bathing and Massage:
Diluted essential oils can be added to bathwater or mixed with massage oils to provide a relaxing or therapeutic experience.

Uses & Benefits
⚖️ Mood & Stress: Many oils are used to reduce anxiety, depression, and stress, with proponents claiming benefits for mood and restlessness.

😴 Sleep: Some essential oils are popular for their ability to promote healthy sleep.

Meditation is food for your soul whether it's visualization or guided Meditation or mindfulness Meditation.

Here are 5 benefits of meditation on your mind and soul

1. Meditation and the hippocampus

The hippocampus stores the memories we create. Every 10 years we loss 5% of the efficiency of the hippocampus.

Meditation will have you reverse the impact on the hippocampus and bring you clarity.

2. The amygdala controls emotions and the stress hormones.

Whenever you feel jealous, hatred or any other negative emotions the amygdala expands. Meditation will help you shrink your amygdala.

3. The cerebral cortex is where our critical thinking and reasoning are housed. It's what is called the grey matter in our brains. When you are practicing Meditation your grey matter increases.

4. Meditation has an impact on your relationships, it improves the bonds with yourself and others because there is a sense of belonging that is increased during Meditation.

I've touched on all the side effects I had when my health issues began.

Today, I want to give a little more detail about this.

When I came home from the hospital I was on medications for High Blood Pressure, High Blood Sugars, and High Cholesterol.

My body was swollen to the point where I felt like my legs were going to bust open. My BP was so high and I couldn't seem to bring it down even on meds. I couldn't get breath to walk even a few steps.

My family Dr added blood sugar meds to try and control my diabetes.

The pain in my back was so severe I could not sit, lay or stand to ease the pain.

My day to day life had completely changed. I had brain fog, memory issues and a constant cough.

Once I figured out what was causing my back pain was a med I told my Dr I wanted off it.

Getting my back fixed up with the help of my chiropractor I was then able to start my research into what I was taking, the side effects and nutraceutical therapies I could replace them with.

I changed my diet, started doing easy exercises, used the integrated therapies I have been trained in, my stress management skills and Somatic exercises to get my mind~body~soul feeling better again.
Now I have reduced or stopped medications because I've done the work to get healthy again. My blood pressure is normal, my sugars are in the regular range and my cholesterol is lowering.

I'm not saying what works for me will be what works for you, what I'm saying is I will do the research and work with you to get you healthy again for your personal journey.

Carbs: Carbohydrates support holistic health by providing essential energy, fiber for digestion and the gut microbiome, and nutrients for brain function and mood regulation. Supporting mind~body~soul.

Carbs are the body's primary energy source, fueling muscles and the brain. Glucose from carbs is vital for cognitive function and mood stability. Complex Carbs are best for maintaining blood sugar levels, stability for the digestive system and act as communication devices for our cells.

Fiber, a type of complex carbohydrate, supports the growth of beneficial gut microorganisms, which is crucial for digestive and overall health.

Healthy carb sources, like fruits and vegetables, are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytonutrients that support overall wellness.

Adequate fiber intake and stable blood sugar from complex carbs support mood regulation by influencing serotonin production in the gut.

Carbs play an important role in our every day health and vitality. Carbs help regulate the metabolism of micronutrients along with protein and fibre by finding balance and can determine strength of our immune response, bone and tissue growth, joint fluidity and the rate of healing after an injury.

Although I may use Keto recipes I do not focus on a ketogenic diet. I eat fruit, vegetables and Carbs like different flours.

In a holistic nutrition approach, fats are essential for bodily functions like hormone production, absorbing fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K), and providing energy, with a focus on consuming healthy unsaturated fats (monounsaturated and polyunsaturated) while limiting unhealthy trans fats and moderating saturated fats.

Fats provide a concentrated source of calories for energy and physical endurance.

Fats contribute to cell structure and function.

They play a role in the synthesis of hormones.

A significant portion of the brain is made of fat, making them vital for cognitive processes and development. (dementia)

Types of Fats and Their Impact
Unsaturated Fats (Healthy Fats)

Monounsaturated and Polyunsaturated fats: are considered "good fats" and can improve heart health by lowering bad cholesterol, reducing inflammation, and protecting against heart disease.

Sources: Avocados, nuts, seeds (flax, chia), olive oil, walnuts, and fatty fish.

Saturated Fats are found in foods like red meat, butter, cheese, and coconut oil. While not as harmful as trans fats, they are best consumed in moderation.

Trans Fats (Unhealthy Fats) are primarily found in processed foods containing partially hydrogenated oils. These should be avoided entirely as they increase disease risk.

Fats have been villianized with statements like fats cause you to be fat, rises cholesterol levels or are unhealthy.

The truth is low fat fad diets were a marketing ploy for women. Remember that the 40-year-old low-fat diet advice was based on limited scientific evidence, and many experts now recognize that healthy fats are a necessary part of a balanced diet.

How "Low Fat" Marketing Can Be Misleading
• Sugar Overload:
To compensate for the loss of taste and texture when fat is removed, manufacturers frequently add more sugar. This can result in a low-fat product that is high in sugar and, in turn, contributes to weight gain and increased risks of chronic diseases like diabetes.
• Similar Calorie Counts:
The added sugar can result in a low-fat product with a calorie count similar to the original, full-fat product.
• Loss of Essential Nutrients:
Healthy fats are essential for brain function, hormone production, and absorbing certain vitamins. Cutting fat from food can mean missing out on these beneficial nutrients.
• Distraction from Other Unhealthy Ingredients:
The prominent "low fat" label can act as a "health halo," drawing attention away from other less healthy components in the food, such as high sodium content, artificial additives, or a generally poor nutritional profile.

How many consumers, women especially, fell for this marketing strategy? How many still do? This is what I mean when I say you have to change your programming.

Protein is a vital macronutrient that's a building block for the body's bones, muscles, skin, cartilage, and blood. It's also necessary for nearly all physiological functions.

Structure and composition: Proteins are large molecules made up of amino acids linked by peptide bonds. The amino acids form long chains, similar to a string of beads.

Functions: Protein helps build and repair tissues, maintain pH and fluid balance, and support the immune system.

Proteins also perform crucial functions like creating enzymes to power chemical reactions, forming antibodies for immunity, and transporting molecules.

Importance: Proper nutrition plays a significant role in health and development by:
🍎 Boosting Energy: Supplying the body with the fuel it needs for daily activities.
🍐 Preventing Disease: Reducing the risk of chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and certain cancers.
🍌 Supporting Growth and Development: Essential for healthy growth in children and overall development across the lifespan.
🍆 Strengthening the Immune System: Helping the body fight off illnesses.
🥦 Promoting Mental Well-being: Supporting brain health and function.

Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, advocated for a natural approach to healing, emphasizing diet, exercise, and environmental factors as key elements of health.
