🧠 Concussion Awareness Day in Alberta 🧠
The Government of Alberta, in partnership with the Sport Medicine Council of Alberta, has declared Wednesday, September 24th as Concussion Awareness Day.
Concussions are more common than you think and can happen in sports, recreation, work, or daily life. Knowing the signs and taking action is critical:
✅ Headache or pressure in the head
✅ Dizziness, balance problems, or vision changes
✅ Confusion, memory issues, or trouble concentrating
✅ Nausea or vomiting
✅ Feeling “off” or not quite right
💡 What you can do:
Recognize the symptoms early
Remove yourself (or your child) from play or activity if a concussion is suspected
Seek medical assessment and follow return-to-learn/return-to-play guidelines
Consider baseline concussion testing for athletes for a safer recovery plan
At Elevation Health, we’re proud to support our community with baseline concussion testing, education, and management strategies. Together, we can make concussion safety a priority.
