✨ Why OTs Recommend Trying a Transitional Toy or Object ✨
Transitions can be challenging—switching from one activity, place, or routine can be hard for anyone.
Try using a transition toy or object!
A transition toy (or object) is a familiar, comforting item a child uses to help move from one activity, place, or routine to another, helping a child feel safe, calm, and prepared during change.
Some Examples May Include:
- A small stuffed animal 🧸
- A favorite toy or figurine toy🚂
- A fidget or sensory item🎵
- A small object from home 🔑
It is a supportive tool that can help your child to navigate change successfully.
If transitions continue to be challenging, our occupational therapists can help! ❤️
