I didn’t grow up an athlete.

I became one later in life, which gave me a very real appreciation for how vulnerable, empowering, frustrating, and life changing it can feel to start.

After studying Fitness and Leisure Management at Cambrian College, I continued into holistic health through the CHEK Institute and eventually found myself immersed in duathlon, cross country running, and bodybuilding.

These days I’m navigating what I jokingly call my newest sport yet… menopause.

What I’ve learned over time is that most women aren’t just looking to lose weight or fit into smaller jeans.

They want to feel stronger in their body. More confident in their skin and more connected to themselves again.

That’s why I see strength training and nutrition as such powerful tools.

Not because we’re trying to become someone else, but because feeling healthy and capable has a way of bringing more of YOU forward.

📣This May at the studio, we’re placing a special focus on strength through STABiLiTY.

It’s the kind of strength that helps your body support itself better, with:

✨ a stronger core
✨ better balance
✨ hips and shoulders working well together
✨ movement that feels more connected and controlled

This is what STABiLiZE is designed to build.

It’s strength training with an emphasis on stability, control, and alignment, so you can build strength in a way that supports how your body moves and feels day to day.

This is kind of focused work that creates the foundation which helps everything else feel better, from workouts to everyday movement.

We begin April 30. There are 6 spots left for the studio experience.

And if making it to the studio isn’t possible, there will also be an Anywhere version of STABiLiZE, so you can do this work from home.

If I wanted to lose inches off my waist by June…
This is exactly what I’d focus on.

Simple. Not easy. But very doable.

Sleep like it matters. Because it does.

8 hours a night isn’t a luxury, it’s the foundation.
It’s like trying to build strength on a cracked base… nothing sticks without it.

Eat enough protein to actually change your body.

Around 100g per day.
Not for restriction, but for repair, muscle, and metabolism.

Lift weights 2–3 times per week.

Not to burn calories…
but to build the kind of body that burns more for you.

Walk daily.

8–10k steps.
It’s like your metabolism’s quiet best friend… steady, consistent, and wildly underrated.

Drink your water.

Aim for your body weight in ounces.
Most women aren’t hungry… they’re under-hydrated.

Dial back processed foods.

Not never. Just less often.
1–2 times per week keeps things realistic and sustainable.

Consistency wins

None of this is extreme. That’s the point.

Do this consistently for the next 8–12 weeks…

Let’s clear something up.
If strength training has felt inconsistent lately, it’s not because you lack motivation.

Most women over 40 are already disciplined. You’ve raised families, built careers, kept everyone else going. The problem isn’t effort. It’s trying to follow plans that don’t match your body anymore.

Random workouts, pushing through fatigue, guessing weights, hoping nothing hurts. That’s exhausting. And it’s not how you build strength, confidence, or longevity.
