An Osteopath attempts to remove the root cause of the dysfunction through several therapeutic approaches. Cranial Sacral, Viceral Manipulation, Soft tissue release and Osteo –Articular adjustments. An Osteopathic Manual Practitioner’s goal is to assist in the alignment the body, so that blood, nerve and lymphatic flow to the arious tissues and organs is optimal, thus, increasing overall health.

Manulife to stop Osteopathy coverage for several associations and their member practitioners!!!!

Manulife recently conducted an extensive review of the osteopathic associations listed below. The review found that these associations Do Not meet the administrative standards required by Manulife that are comparable to other paramedical providers governed by provincial bodies.

As a result, Manulife will no longer recognize the following associations and member practitioners as of Sept 15, 2017:

-Society of Osteopaths of Canada/ Society of
Osteopaths of Quebec

-Ontario Osteopathic and Alternative Medicine
Association

-Ontario Association of Certified Osteopaths and
Acupuncturists

-Ontario Association of Osteopathy and Natural
Medicine

-Ontario Association of Osteopathic Practitioners

-Ontario Professional Association of Osteopathic
Medicine

Colin McArthur is an active member of the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners (OAO). The OAO is, and will continue to be recognized by Manulife for clients that have Osteopathic coverage under their extended health insurance plans.
