As Bereaved Parents Month comes to a close, we’re reflecting on the power of words—what helps, and what can unintentionally hurt.

If you’ve experienced loss, what words or gestures have brought you comfort? Feel free to share below to help others support grieving parents with more care and understanding.

Even well-meaning comments can land painfully. Here are a few phrases to rethink:

❌ “At least you can get pregnant.”
❤️ “I’m sorry you have to try again.”

❌ “You have so much time.”
❤️ “I’m sorry this isn’t unfolding how you hoped.”

❌ “Are you going to try for a boy/girl?”
❤️ “Do you feel like you might want another?”

❌ “This new baby will heal everything.”
❤️ “This baby will be so loved.”

Sometimes, the most supportive thing is simply listening—offering space without advice or judgment.

We remain committed to supporting bereaved parents in every way we can ♥️
