You're not right or wrong in your answer.

In my own personal journey, there was a massive liberation when I stopped attaching my self-worth to my appearance or physical abilities.

Sadly, the fitness industry, heavily rooted in vanity, holds ideologies that place high importance on external validation. Without challenging this, weighing it against your own beliefs, you might find your fitness journey a constant struggle to live up to expectations that aren't really those you value.

This was my experience.

My body, right now, is different than what it used to be but it doesn't make me less of a person.

I'm not nearly as strong as I was back in 30's and yet I'm stronger in almost every other way; mind, spirit, heart.

I'm building and it's a process. But it's on my own timeline, my own terms, and my own desires.

I wish you a healthier and aligned path,

Coach Ty

Some great mobility gains here from .w.y.lee!

We've moved beyond the pain and limitations of the frozen shoulder to now have access to efficient strength work around her shoulder girdle.

Oftentimes, it's not just about getting stronger but instead addressing what's suppressing the strength in the first place.

I'm so proud of my client 🙌🏻

His commitment to the process and really trusting and staying open with it, has lead to some significant structural changes!

Here's some notable things we focus on:

🏋Training myofascial slings, coiling.
🏋️Compressionp/decompression
🏋️Emphasis on creating greater rotation
🏋️Tissue release
🏋️Neurokinetic Therapy
🏋️Structual balance methods
🏋️Proprioception work

Making shifts in the body that hold takes an orchestration of several working systems. It's not easy and takes equal effort from both of us. He puts in the work outside of our training to keep moving the needle.

Well done, Barry! I look forward to seeing you evolve even more 💪🏻

Stability, in this case from the shoulder girdle, will present the environment from which power, force, strength can be expressed.

Are you aware of where you're leaking your energy through instability?

The Holistic Strength®️Balanced Approach (HSBA) considers each clients unique needs and delivers highly individualized coaching and programming.

Could you imagine the outcome of these 3 different body structures doing the same program? Well, unfortunately, most people are simply unaware that their training can be enhanced through individualization.

Here's a few practical ways 👇🏻

✅ If you're under a lot of stress, try down-regulating your nervous system before you train. This will help lower your baseline as exercise will naturally increase it again.

❌ Avoid or find modifications to over-head exercises if you have a prominent upper body slouch. This structure will easily create shoulder impingement. You'd be better off working on creating better T-spine extension.

✅ Spend time in your warm up engaging areas that are deemed weaker than others. The HSBA often uses 2:1 ratios where the troubled side gets more attention to help close the gap on the imbalance.

❌ If you have chronic neck tension, you might have a chronically weak core because of their strong synergistic relationship. Spend less time doing dynamic core movements, such as hanging leg raises, and more time strengthening your core with subtle movement that can detrain the neck's over-involvement.

These are some general ideas that could help you! Of course, everyone is unique and other factors need to be considered which is why having that personal attention matters 👊🏻

Happy Training!

Gone are the days of technology only being for the younger crowd 🙅🏻

Thankfully, the digital space makes it super easy for anyone to join a call and thus I've personally seen a huge increase in virtual training clients, aged 70+. In fact, 40% of my business is currently virtual training and 80% of those people are over the age of 70, and 40% of them are over 80 years old! 🥳

This generation of clients really cares about aging well so that they can maintain the highest quality of life, embracing their many passions. 💗

With the majority of them retired, their schedules are filled with social events, travelling, activities like golf, pickleball, tennis, or sailing, and of course, family time. They really value their time differently so, from the feedback I've collected, they really appreciate the convenience of virtual training from their homes. They also value the fact that they can travel with me, with the virtual space having so much reach. 🌎

If this sounds like you or a person you know, then reach out to explore this truly amazing service!

They all have one thing in common...

👉🏻They’re all doing the “right” things — but the approach isn’t right for them.

I think having a variety of fitness services, such as classes, online programs, and big box gyms, are positive in that they provide options to get you up and active. I personally know several of them that deliver high-quality service.

The issue is pretty simple: not all bodies are the same and thus outcomes will vary.

Some will feel great doing the same programs as others and others will absolutely not.

Some will seemingly look similar to you and yet they're really not.

Some will be able to go years without thinking about their individual needs, until they have to.

You're not better or worse than others for needing a different approach, you're simply experiencing the uniqueness of being you.

Treat your body with a high level of personal attention and care and feel the difference.
