Today, I’m discussing the role of GLP-1 hormone, particularly in relation to menopausal stages, I know it well ☺️😅.

During peri/menopause, we often experience a myriad of physical & emotional changes (sorry Wesley for anything I say because of my “emotions” 🤣). Among these are alterations in metabolism, insulin resistance & increased risk for cardiovascular disease. This is where the GLP-1 hormone, primarily known for regulating blood sugar levels, plays a vital part in health during & post-menopause.

✅GLP-1 is a naturally occurring hormone that promotes insulin secretion. This is crucial during menopause as the body becomes more resistant to insulin, leading to increased blood sugars. By boosting production & effectiveness of insulin, GLP-1 mitigates the problem & aids in maintaining balanced glucose levels.

✅In addition, GLP-1 is also associated with weight control. Obesity is a risk factor & maintaining a healthy weight becomes even more important during menopause, plus who doesn’t want to lose that little pouch we all start carrying 🤦🏼‍♀️. GLP-1 increases feelings of fullness after meals, reducing overall calorie intake & aids in weight management.

✅More excitingly, recent studies suggest that GLP-1 might have a cardio-protective effect. It potentially reduces blood pressure & improves lipid profiles, which makes it a crucial ally for heart health, especially important during menopause when the risk of cardiovascular disease increases.

✅Keep in mind that while GLP-1 plays a positive role, it should be complemented by a balanced diet, regular exercise & sufficient sleep. 💪𝐀𝐒𝐊 𝐌𝐄 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐃𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐘 𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐁𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐂 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇 𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓 𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐏 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐎𝐎𝐍💪

In conclusion, the GLP-1 hormone seems to alleviate several of the health challenges that emerge during menopause. By supporting glucose metabolism, assisting in weight management, & contributing to cardiovascular health, it serves as a beneficial presence for women during this stage of life.

🥑🍊🍎Healthy Living Tip: Lower Your Triglycerides Naturally 🍏🍋🍌

Hello ! Today, we're diving into the heart of health - literally 🖤🤍🩷. We're talking about triglycerides, a type of fat found in your blood. Have you ever had yours checked?? Do you know why it’s important? High levels can lead to heart disease, but fear not, you can lower these naturally.

👊 Here are 5 simple lifestyle changes you can start today & share which ones do you think you could improve on this month👇👇:

1️⃣ Nutritious Diet 🍽️: Incorporate wholesome foods, rich in omega-3 fatty acids & fibres like fish, fruits, veggies, whole grains & lean proteins. Say hello to avocados, & goodbye to refined sugars & unhealthy fats. Cooking at home with healthier options sure is a great way to improve your diet!! Limit restaraunts or take out to 1-2 a month to keep you on track!!

2️⃣ Exercise Regularly 🏃‍♀️: Make physical activity part of your routine. A brisk walk or jog, bike ride, yoga or simply dancing around the house can help lower your triglycerides (notice those are all FREE 😉, my fave kind of workouts💪). Keep it simple, fun, consistent & change it up as often as possible! Ask me for some home routines you can try at any level!

3️⃣ Maintain Healthy Weight 💪: Losing even 5-10% of your body weight can significantly reduce triglyceride levels. Quit the fad diets and eat simple, nutritious, whole foods, balanced meals with higher protein, no or limited snacks (only when necessary), mindful eating to help!

4️⃣ Limit Sugar: No I would never tell you to fully eliminate this…I mean come on, we have to live 😉, but there are options for a healthy balance! First, limit treats like candy, cakes, desserts for special occasions & portion properly (100cal range) to be satisfied without indulging (tip: try squares of dark 🍫 kept in the freezer for a satisfying crunchy treat). For foods that contain natural sugar like fruits or carbs like pasta, bread etc, try a sugar converting enzyme or metabolic GLP 1 support like “Transform & Activate System” (ask me👇). These enzymes literally help your body convert sugar into fiber &/or support & increase the natural GLP hormone, so less of it enters your bloodstream & helps you maintain healthy levels throughout the day, no spikes, no dips, helps tackle stubborn weight, curbs cravings & improves mood & focus 👊!!
