I know for myself it can be so easy to focus on the negatives ☹ - what I am stressed about or angry about. When I feel my stress increasing I reach into my wellbeing tool kit and amp up my self-care. When my counsellor asked me what makes me feel good, what is my self-care? I really had to think about it to come up with more than a few ideas (but even knowing 1 or 2 is awesomesauce! And way to go if you know!) Things that make me feel good🥰 I'm quick to go to Yoga and meditation🧘‍♀️ a bath 🧼 speaking with my counsellor, cuddles from my spouse🐦being in nature and listening to calming music 📻 But really there can be so much more if we ask ourselves this question and meditate on it. Heck yes I love myself a good cup of coffee☕ all kinds of music, a delicious meal, snuggles with my cat🐆 a good book and laughing with friends. I'm sure there is more and I'll keep exploring. Knowing your happiness triggers is just as important as knowing your stress/anger/sadness triggers. Try this activity 📝 Write out a few things that you know makes you feel good. What comes to mind for you for your self-care? It could even be taking a few deep belly breaths 💨 Tuning in can help you explore what your happiness tools are 💫 This can really be handy for stressful times and also for your everyday wellbeing 🙏. ✨Lastly, I love all of Melissa West's classes Yoga with Dr. Melissa West I appreciate her gentle-thoughtful approach and calming energy. You also learn so much from each class. She has a strong anatomy background and shares her love of yogic philosophy and yoga history. She recently received her certification in yin yoga and I have been enjoying the restorative yin classes so much! ✨Hey folks I have had a few requests for me to share my favourite online yoga teachers for enjoying yoga at home. My first feature is Yoga With Adriene http://yogawithadriene.com/ I personally love her bedtime yoga, yoga for stress reduction and gentle yoga videos. She offers classes for all levels and has some specialty classes that I have never seen before, e.g. Yoga for musicians - cool! Also her personality is so down-to-earth and chill ❤️ her! 🙏

✨Thank you to everyone in the community who has supported my charity yoga class in Sprucewoods. It was a wonderful experience sharing yoga with you and meeting new mindful folks. As a new teacher, working with you has helped me grow in ways I honour and cherish. I hope that you felt a little lighter in your hearts and a little more peace in your body. I encourage you to continue with your yoga journey, either at the afternoon Vinyasa at the GSH in Shilo, Monday Mindful Meditation a 12:00 p.m. with Bonnie at the Shilo Faith Centre, with Yoga in Carberry, or in Brandon at the many wonderful studios. If you are interested in practicing at home, I can let you know about my favourite online teachers. 👉Before my husband and I make our journey to our next posting in beautiful Yellowknife, I will be teaching my last class in the 8 week series. 🎆 Join me for a special class on Tuesday, November 14th {Awakening The Spine} it's a bit longer than usual from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. but it's more time to unravel and lengthen the spine with a few extra minutes in savasana under cozy blankets. Herbal tea will be served after class ☕ looking forward to seeing you there! Class drop-in is $2.00 with funds raised going towards supporting the Sprucewoods Community Hall. Doors open at 6:45pm. ✨Since most of us are taking littles out trick or treating or handing out candy, I've decided to cancel Yoga for Tuesday, October 31st 2017 at the Sprucewoods Hall. It's a bit of a wait for the next class, as my husband and I are visiting Yellowknife (our new posting) to find a cozy place to call home. See you on Tuesday, November 14th 2017 and since it's my last charity class it will be a special one! Join me for {Awakening The Spine} 7:00pm-8:30pm with herbal tea to follow 🙏

✨Join me on Tuesday, October 24th at the Sprucewoods Community Hall for Yoga for the hands and wrists. Let's wring out some stress and get to know our paws a little more 🙌. We will play with a breathing mudra meditation to focus the mind and draw awareness to the breath and hands, work towards stability and mobility in the wrists, ground and earth through the hands and tip toe our way into balancing crow. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and class runs from 7pm-8pm. Class fee is a kind donation of $2.00 and all funds raised go towards supporting the Sprucewoods Community Hall. See you then 🙏
