There is no wrong answer. Oops, well, yes, there is! That very course, scratchy abrasive scrub, no good!! Sorry, don't throw it out. Use it on your feet, garden and working hands etc.

BENZOIN ESSENTIAL OIL ✨

🌿 Benzoin (Styrax benzoin) “ Sweet Dreams” I refer to benzoin as “Sweet Dreams” because it is what comes to me (GARETH) when I inhale its beautifully sweet, seductive, warm and euphoric aroma. I seem to drift off into a world of happy dreams!

🌿 Benzoin is one of my favorite essential oils. It is thick, sweet, euphoric and warming…just perfect for winter! Benzoin’s best actions come when treating skin complaints and combating stress, anxiety, fear, tension and worry.

🌿 It helps to soften, moisturize and smooth hard, dry and chapped skin and is therefore excellent for preparations of the hand, feet, elbows and knees. It has a wonderful vanilla-like aroma that many people enjoy, so that can also make it a useful oil for facial applications.

🌿 As a sedative that has a euphoric effect on mind, body and spiritual levels, benzoin is used very effectively to promote rest, relaxation and sleep.

🌿 We’ve used it with frankincense, chamomile and lavender in the evening to great effect. And a blend of benzoin, neroli and frankincense is utterly divine! Highly recommend that - but please do check the contraindications of each oil before using and always follow the key health, safety and storage information for essential oils. All of this is covered in our online courses.

🌿 There are two key contraindications with Benzoin. It can cause some skin sensitivity if overused (best to use it in low dilutions) and some people don’t use benzoin on/with children under eight years old.

🌿 Personally, I enjoy using benzoin in oil diffusers as well as balms, salves, creams and lotions. Sweet dreams with benzoin!

Tip: Always read your labels and choose products that nourish & and hydrate, not strip and stress your skin. Gentle, plant-based, and transparent ingredient listing make a world of difference.
My favorite ingredients to look for are cold pressed carrier oils, essential oils, and hydrosols vs. water.
