I have a ticket to sober Fest (Victoria next Saturday Aug 2) for sale if anyone is interested. It’s $50. A friend of mine is no longer able to go due to medical reasons and has asked me to try and sell it.

I’m going to go to the oyster river potholes tomorrow early afternoon- around 1130 - til probably 5ish - and am happy to take anyone wanting to check it out- so if you want to come let me know if you need a ride by later this evening and address to pick you up, etc 🙂 I can take 5 others in my van or 4 in my car. Essentials I will be bringing (and encourage everyone else to do the same):
Snacks to share, cold drinks, blanket/towel, snorkel, hat, baithing suit/change of clothes, sunscreen, fabric bags(for treasures to bring home), first aid kit and anything else fun/handy you want. There is a bit of a steep hill to walk down, about 5-10 min walk in total from where we will park including the hill and trail. Hope to see you there! 🫶

Friendly reminder about the youth recovery program planning meeting tonight 630-930pm @ 951 Fitzgerald Ave in the Nomina building. There will be pizza/treats/drinks, friendly faces, important discussions, brainstorming on a few subjects and possibly voting on some legality topics so we can move forward in a timely manner. After we work through the agenda items and wrap up the actual planning session, we will do a makeshift sharing circle style recovery meeting. It will have a mix of both fellowship’s reading cards and daily meditation readings and everyone will get an opportunity to share. Sharing won’t have time limits or specific topics but will be on whatever is on your mind and heart - because sometimes we all have a need to feel seen and heard and at this meeting, no one will be left out! Looking forward to seeing you and if you can - free to bring a potluck item to share. If you’re in need of a ride please call me before 6pm @ 2502051129 and I’ll make sure you can join us!

We are still collecting donations of new and used items such as:

-hand outs, pamphlets, clip boards, dry erase markers, writing utensils, business cards for relatable local youth resources, recordings, videos, books, literature and any other materials related to recovery, meditation and topics that youth might be struggling with or interested in
-activities for youth to take part in including board games, video games/consoles/accessories, craft/colouring/journaling/educational materials of any kind
-gift cards/certificates/activity passes for local stores/programs/facilities that we can use to purchase our own supplies as well as use for fun/educational youth outtings and feild trips
-fidget toys/tools and sensory items that youth can use during our meetings if needed
-food supplies like individually packaged snacks, drinks, disposable cutlery, plates/bowls,cups, napkins/paper towels and any coffee/tea supplies
-cleaning materials including cleaning wipes, multi purpose spray cleaners, garbage/recycling bags of all sizes, swiffer supplies, magic erasers and dry erase marker erasers
-recyclable/refundable bottles (we will soon have our own non profit charity account set up at the recycling depot that you will be able to directly donate at as well)

You are welcome to drop them off at our meetings on Saturday nights, my house in Comox or send me a location/time to pick them up.

A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated items, time, effort and has spread awareness and shares the positive message about this essential and influential project! You are extremely crucial to our success and ability to provide the youth of today a much healthier and safer tomorrow💜

*Please note that we are not currently accepting monitary donations but we will be able to in the near future once we have tax receipts available.

Hey guys! We have a new venue opportunity available for us to hang out at on Friday nights after the recovery meeting besides Boston pizza. I was talking to the staff at Rickie’s today at brunch (many of which are our fellows) and they are happy to hold their restaurant open for our members every Friday night - even after they are closed to the public. This will allow us to have more privacy, space, faster service, different food options than we are used to and be able to support our fellows! This idea went over well with the group at brunch today after the meeting and I thought it should become wide spread info for the rest of the fellowships in advance of next Friday night 🙂 💗

Saturday Night Youth Recovery Program planning session #3 happening at 630pm at 951 Fitzgerald Ave in Courtenay at the Nomina building. Anyone wanting to get involved is welcome to attend. We will be in the planning stages for a few months, hopefully up and running in March. We can use all of the help from inspiring hands and minds as we can get so join in whenever possible! There will be pizza, drinks and writing materials provided. Hope to see you!

Tomorrow night! This is not going to be open to the youth specifically tomorrow - it’s a brainstorming and planning meeting to get it ready for advertising and opening to the public. A huge thanks to the amazing humans at Nomina for graciously donating this space to the program💗

This is your chance to have a vote on important issues, get involved in whatever way you want to and check out this new opportunity to be of service. It’s will be a new kind of recovery model for an age group that crucially needs it and you are welcomed to help shape and structure this program as much as you want. There will be pizza, drinks and opportunities to share your experience, strength and hope like a regular meeting, ask questions, present any concerns you have and give feedback.

This group aims to be a gentle introduction to all types of recovery resources, meetings, programs and possible sponsors. If you have pamphlets, handouts, books or any other types of recovery related material that you’d like to donate - please do. We will always have a resources table available for youth to take as needed and monetary donations will always go towards literature and activities. Anyone willing to put their name on a list to be handed out to youth who attend wanting to know more about 12 step fellowships/other recovery models or be taken to meetings should show up or message me directly. Or if you’re interested in signing up to come in and do a guest speaker style meeting that will happen once a month, message me.

This program is also going to operate as a safe place for youth to go every Saturday night to meet other safe friends and do fun activities afterwards. It’s going to take a lot of us passionate recovering adults coming together and being involved on a regular basis to function successfully and continue to spread a message of hope.
