Wow, this is incredible and life changing for so many people.

“B.C. made history as the first province in Canada to offer free coverage for prescription contraceptives. By partnering with the Government of Canada to fully cover contraceptives and diabetes medications, we can now reinvest these savings to improve coverage for hormone replacement therapy for people experiencing menopausal symptoms. This is another significant step toward increasing equity in health care, reducing financial barriers and helping more people to take control of their reproductive health."

Governments will work together to provide universal access to contraception, diabetes medication, and hormone replacement therapy.

I’ll be back in clinic tomorrow catching up after my extended vacation- thanks for being patient for things like prescription refills, answering emails and rescheduling appointments. My husband fell ill while we were on vacation and we needed to stay several extra days while he recovered. Everything is fine now, I’ve just got lots to catch up on for work!

Life can be hard, for various reasons. Maybe you can relate to things in my life that can sometimes present challenges: a full time job, parenting and managing a household.

Today I am thanking past me for thinking of future me. I book a morning or a day off every couple of months so I can catch up, or slow down, or do whatever it is that I need at that time. I’m so thankful for the privilege of being self employed with a reliable, supportive and steady practice that permits me this gift of time. It helps me be a better doctor for you and a better me for me.

Today I took myself out for breakfast and am drinking coffee and doing easy sudoku puzzles. Bliss!
