The deep core muscles play a vital role in maintaining a healthy back and pelvis. These muscles include the transverse abdominus, the lumbar and sacral multifidus, the respiratory diaphragm and the muscles of the pelvic floor.

The transverse abdominus is a deep abdominal muscle that helps to stabilize the spine and pelvis. The lumbar and sacral multifidus are small muscles that run along the spine, helping to provide stability and support to the lower back. The respiratory diaphragm is a muscle that helps us to breathe and plays an important role in core stability. The muscles of the pelvic floor help to support the organs in the pelvis and also play a role in bladder and bowel control.
