When people think of boundaries, they often imagine difficult conversations or big changes.

But a lot of sustainable boundaries are actually quiet and subtle.

They’re built in small moments—when you choose not to overextend, over-explain, or over-give.

If you’re working on creating more space in your life, you don’t have to do it all at once.

And if you’d like support with that process, you can click the link in our bio to learn more.

Sometimes the exhaustion isn’t coming from obvious effort—it’s coming from the invisible load you’re carrying all day.
The thinking, adjusting, remembering, anticipating… it adds up.
Instead of asking, “Why am I so tired?”
Try asking, "What have I been holding today?”
That shift alone can bring a bit more self-understanding (and a bit less self-criticism).

If this resonates and you’re wanting help lightening that load, you can click the link in our bio to learn more about how we support clients.

You might not be “bad at resting”—you might just need a different kind of rest.

Many of us are carrying full schedules, full minds, and full emotional loads. No wonder sleep alone doesn’t fix the exhaustion.

Try this: today, choose one type of rest and give yourself 10 minutes of it.
Small shifts count 🤍

If you’re wanting more support in creating space for yourself, you can click the link in our bio to learn more about working together.

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t that you don’t care—it’s that you do, and still feel far away.

You might still show up, still check in, still love the people in your life… but something feels muted or out of reach.

That kind of distance can happen when you’re overwhelmed, stretched thin, or disconnected from yourself.

It’s not a failure of care. It’s often a sign you need care, too.

What shifts when you stop trying to force closeness—and start tending to yourself instead?

If this resonates, therapy can help you gently understand that distance and find your way back to connection in a way that feels real, not forced.

It’s easy to slip into the mindset that rest has to be deserved.

That you need to finish everything first.
That you should push a little harder.
That stopping means falling behind.

But constantly running on empty doesn’t make you more effective—it just makes everything harder.

What would it look like to respect your limits before you hit them?

Try one small shift today:
• Take a break before you feel exhausted
• Leave something unfinished on purpose
• Let “good enough” be enough

You’re allowed to take up space in your own life—without earning it first.

The way we speak to ourselves matters.

Many of us are far more critical toward ourselves than we would ever be toward someone we care about. In difficult moments, it can help to pause and ask:
“What would I say to a friend in this situation?”

Self-compassion doesn’t mean ignoring mistakes — it means responding to yourself with the same understanding you offer others.

A small reminder to speak to yourself with kindness today.

🗣️It’s International Women’s Day! Let’s use it to get educated! 🏫

Our amazing Intern Clinical Counsellor, Jess, put out this eye-opening video addressing inequities in women’s health and even offered suggestions on how this could be systematically addressed - it’s kind of mind blowing. 🤯

If you’ve been feeling “off” lately, this is your reminder that you’re not broken — you might just be overloaded.

We live in a world that constantly pulls at our attention, energy, and emotions. Of course your system gets tired. Of course you feel stretched sometimes.

Before you assume something is wrong with you, pause and ask:
What might my nervous system need right now?

Try the 60-second reset and notice what shifts — even subtly.

What would change this week if you responded to your stress with support instead of self-criticism?

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed or like you should be doing more — pause.

You don’t need a full reset. You need one small, supportive shift that feels manageable. Real, sustainable change comes from safety — not pressure.

Start simple. Let it be enough.

Sometimes our reactions aren’t just about the moment we’re in — they’re about moments we’ve been through.

If you’ve ever thought, “Why did that hit me so hard?” — you’re not broken. You’re likely triggered.

Emotional triggers are your nervous system trying to protect you based on past experiences. The goal isn’t to eliminate triggers completely — it’s to understand them.

Awareness creates space.
Space creates choice.
And choice creates growth. 💛

🌱 THERAPY FOR TIRED PARENTS

Sometimes, even in the most loving, supportive, structured families, it can feel exhausting, confusing, and even lonely as a parent, and like nothing you are trying is working.

In fact, we’re in a time where never have parents tried so hard and felt such pressure to do even more - be even better… be perfect. 😔

Meanwhile, with children or teens who struggle, with issues like:

• difficulty attending school or activities,
• stomachaches, headaches, or other bodily ailments that seem almost constant, or come out of nowhere, or defy medical explanation,
• need constant presence and reassurance
• reactive, or have meltdowns
• a lack of healthy social supports and connections
• and more…

…it’s not meant to be done perfectly, or accomplished alone. Sometimes, we need support - and our kids do too.

RCC Nafiseh works with children, youth, and families. She helps with understanding emotions, feeling more confident and connected, and finding the skills, tools, and routines needed to help the whole family - whether working with a child, teen, and/or parent.
