The gift of visual storytelling through one of my legacy art pieces is a priceless treasure that will touch the hearts of the people you care most about—maybe make them cry in the best way possible. As you share more about your vision with me, you empower me with the seeds I need to cultivate that vision. It is important to me that the process is both simple and rewarding for you. Together, we will curate a masterpiece that is truly unique and exceptional. This heartfelt gesture may or may not involve research. If you already have your research then you can send me your GEDCOM file on a private link that I will send to you. During our collaboration call, you’ll see how I can make this as easy and stress free as possible.

**Family Ancestrees is NOT a franchise. You will receive personal one on one care and service from me, Sue.

👋 oh hi! What a fabulous day at the Tri-City Seniors Action Society’s “Connecting Generations” event!
I was so appreciative for being asked to speak to seniors about the importance of starting their family history journey. I knew I had to be there and made the trip from Alberta.

My big question: if as a senior you don’t remember your grandparents names and stories, how can you expect your grandchildren to remember you when they are seniors?
Get connected with the youth in your life today! Tell them your stories about what you do remember; the joys of learning baking, building etc.

Why was I there with no marketing material? Simply—everything is in storage waiting for the final stages of home to be in Alberta 🤩🥰

Thank you for helping me keep it simple and coming to chat with me about your grandparents. Such a great day in Coquitlam ❤️

I first learned about F***y in 2014 😍 she was my 4x great-grandmother and mother to Clarissa. The historians in my family have been looking for her about 100 years. This week I learned she was abandoned by her husband c1813 as she raised 4 children, only 2 making it to adulthood. With her children and their families she emigrated from New York to Montreal in 1840. Between March of ‘42 and May of ‘43 her daughter in law would die in childbirth, then the baby, followed by another grandchild, her son and F***y. They were all buried in a cemetery that no longer exists. Yesterday I found their remains were moved to the Mt Royal cemetery to rest with the remaining family. ❤️

What a journey F***y has made.

If you are ever uncertain where to find personal strength, look no further than your ancestors! ❤️

Happy family reunion game: Find yourself on the Family Chart! Because of the probability of a storm and high winds the Rexe reunion organizer tethered these giant family tree boards to a trellis with bungee cords. Thankfully there was no rain 😁

Thank you Rexe family for the opportunity to add to your reunion fun.

If you are stuck working on your tree—Ancestry has DNA kits on sale in Canada until August 11th. It's the very best way I know of to bust through a brick wall.

I'm trying my hand at writing... more often. Here is a recent blog post and it raises some questions about who you include in your family tree.

Do you have a surprise family in your family tree? A second unknown family—blemishing a branch... do you add it the cousins or just what do you do?

Visually Capturing Your Family History

My passions are two-fold: family history + graphic design! I am all about helping others discover their stories and then commemorating their family history in a book, a poster or even a simple beautiful chart.

Why? I draw my strength and optimism from knowing about my ancestors life experiences. I want this good feeling for everyone. So, I help with research and DNA discoveries.

How? As a professional Graphic Designer with over 40 years of skilled experience, I really know my way around publishing. Your history is personal and the art about it should be custom. It is difficult to share your stories when your research is trapped in a computer or box. Let me help you be visual!

You? Are a family history buff who is longing to share your discoveries – and you are mostly ready with your research. I’ve seen how these custom art pieces trigger great questions from your family! The colours will draw the younger generations into your passion.
