As of June 1, 2025, Tetanus vaccines are available in pharmacies in NL.

Tetanus shots should be given within 48 hours of getting a wound that’s deep and/or contaminated with dirt, f***l matter or saliva. You’ll need a booster shot if you haven’t had one in the past ten years (or can’t remember if you have).

Congratulations to our colleagues next door ❤️

We would like to recognize another hero in healthcare who was presented with a Guardian Angel award recently! The Guardian Angel program celebrates those who have made a significant difference in the lives of their patients, often going above and beyond the call of duty. Dr. Rebecca Lethbridge has been recognized for her phenomenal work recently.

Dr. Lethbridge's nominator shared their experience and gratitude with us as follows: "Dr. Lethbridge, you’ve been our family doctor since Covid, and when I became pregnant with our first child last year, you followed me for my first 20 weeks. Every test I had performed, you made sure I was contacted about the results as soon as they were available (your receptionist, Melina, is such an angel to deal with, as well, she even called me late on a Friday with ultrasound results, so I didn’t have to wait all weekend). You’re kind, caring and you always have a smile for your patients. I remember our first appointment back with our daughter after being followed by the OB until birth, you were thrilled to finally meet her and made sure I was doing okay post-partum. We are so blessed to have you and now our daughter is blessed to have you as her doctor. You truly are our Guardian Angel and if anyone was meant to be a doctor, it was you."

Family Pharmachoice is 8 today!

It is hard to believe that 8 years have passed already, and we are so thankful for the amazing support we have and continue to receive from our community!

To celebrate, we are giving back to our community who has supported us so kindly and hosting a Coffee Break in collaboration with the Alzheimer's Society of NL. Did you know that by 2035, there will be over 14,000 people living with dementia in NL? We will be raising money to help support the important work that the Alzheimer's Society of NL is doing every day for patients and their families.

Come by Thursday from 10AM to 2PM for a cup of coffee (Compliments of Sugar & Dice) and chat with our Pharmacists and Pharmacy Student, Jacob Evoy, to learn about resources available for patients and families and how your pharmacist can help navigate living with or caring for someone with dementia. Many of us (our families included) have been directly affected by Alzheimer's Disease.
