June is Seniors Month in Ontario — a time to recognize, celebrate and honour the incredible seniors in our communities. 💙

The 2026 theme, Ontario Seniors — Let’s Get Moving, highlights the importance of wellness, social engagement and lifelong learning for older adults.

Seaway Valley Community Health Centre is pleased to once again represent our organization at the upcoming Aging Well Senior Health and Safety Fair taking place on Wednesday, June 24th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Benson Centre.

We look forward to connecting with community members, sharing resources, and celebrating healthy aging together!

Our Seaway Valley Community Health Centre Cardiac Rehabilitation Team was proud to participate in this important community event in Akwesasne alongside our valued partners from UOHI. Supporting heart health through prevention, education, and early screening is an important part of our commitment to helping people live healthier lives. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day a success and to all who took the time to prioritize their heart health.

🐦🌿 Slow Down and Discover the Birds Around You! 🌿🐦

Have you ever wondered about the birds you hear singing on your morning walk? Join Connie & Sheila from the Cornwall and Area Birding Club for a relaxing guided birdwatching experience at Grey’s Creek!

Whether you're completely new to birdwatching or simply looking for a peaceful way to spend time outdoors, this walk offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, learn to identify local birds, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season.

📍 Location: Grey’s Creek
📅 Date: Thursday, June 11
🕙 Time: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

🌿 This is not a fitness walk. The focus is on relaxation, mindfulness in nature, and beginner-friendly birdwatching.

👀 All experience levels are welcome!
🔭 Bring your binoculars if you have them (we'll also have some available to share).

Our Nature Prescribing Program walks offer an opportunity to slow down, unplug, and reconnect with the natural world around us. We hope you'll join us!

“We are proud to expand interprofessional primary care services in partnership with other primary care organizations in our community. This investment reflects the shared commitment of Seaway Valley Community Health Centre, Centre de santé communautaire de l’Estrie, Glengarry Nurse Practitioner Led Clinic, and Rideau St. Lawrence Family Health Team to improving access to team based primary care for people across our region. By working together, we can better meet community needs and continue building a more connected, responsive healthcare system.” Erin Killoran, Executive Director, Seaway Valley Community Health Centre

🎉 Big news for primary care access in the Great River region!

The Great River OHT / ÉSO du Grand Fleuve is pleased to share a $5.1M+ investment through Ontario’s Primary Care Action Plan, helping connect up to 13,687 residents to a primary care provider across our region. 🩺🏡

This work is being delivered through a collaborative effort between Seaway Valley Community Health Centre, the Centre de santé communautaire de l'Estrie (CSCE), the Glengarry Nurse Practitioner Led Clinic, and the Rideau St. Lawrence Family Health Team. 🤝

Together, these partners are working to expand access to coordinated, team-based care closer to home—bringing together family physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, dietitians, pharmacists, and physiotherapists to better support residents across the region.

A strong example of what collaboration can achieve: better access, stronger coordination, and more connected care for our communities. 💙
