Take a moment and imagine arriving at a gas station in 2024 and you notice, the individual beside you is paying the prices of 1980. Everyone starts to look over and ask them, why do you get to pay the prices of 1980 when we're all stuck paying todays prices? The individual would simply reply, I prepaid my gas in 1980 so the prices are locked in for life.
