I want to share something personal with you.

There was a time when I truly believed my brain had no off switch.
My mind felt permanently “on.” Sleep didn’t come without medication — and even then, I barely got three hours.

I was deeply exhausted…
and at the same time, wired for sound.

Night after night, I wanted sleep so badly.
I tried everything I could think of.

Nothing seemed to help.

What I didn’t understand then was that my nervous system was activated all the time.

My body was on full alert — 24/7 —
and no amount of effort, discipline, or “doing the right thing” could convince it to settle.

I didn’t need another sleep strategy.
I needed to understand my nervous system — and learn how to support it.

That understanding slowly changed my relationship with sleep.
Not instantly. Not perfectly.
But gently, over time.

Sleep became more available.
My energy began to return.
Life started to feel steadier again.

The Better Sleep Community is the space I wish I had during those years.

A place to learn how to support your nervous system —
so sleep can come more naturally,
energy can rebuild,
and life can feel more like yours again.

If this story resonates, you’re welcome to learn more.
And if you’d rather move slowly, you can begin with a limited-access preview — simply to see if this space feels supportive for you.

“Sleep often arrives when the nervous system no longer feels like it has to stay alert.”

If you’ve ever crawled into bed exhausted —
but your body stayed awake, watchful, restless —
you’re not doing anything wrong.

Often, it’s not that your body can’t sleep.
It’s that your nervous system is still protecting… still scanning… still holding the day.

Better sleep doesn’t come from forcing yourself to relax.
It comes from helping your nervous system feel safe enough to soften.

Inside the Better Sleep Community, we slow this process way down.
We learn how to listen to the nervous system, support it gently, and create the conditions where rest — and sleep — can return in their own time.

If this resonates, you can learn more here 🌿

💛 Vulnerability often shows up at night.

It’s quiet.
The day has ended.
And suddenly… everything you didn’t have time, space, or safety to feel during the day starts knocking.

The conversation you replay.
The moment you wish you’d said something differently.
The sadness you held together for everyone else.
The part of you that needed comfort but stayed strong instead.

When we talk about vulnerability, we often think it means sharing or opening up with others.

But for many nervous systems, vulnerability shows up as being alone with yourself when the lights go out.

Your body finally senses:
“There’s space now.”

And if your system learned long ago that vulnerability wasn’t safe, sleep can feel far away—not because anything is wrong, but because your nervous system is doing what it knows how to do: staying alert.

Sometimes difficulty sleeping isn’t about habits or routines.
It’s about unprocessed emotion.
Unmet needs.
Tender places that didn’t get witnessed.

What if tonight, instead of trying to make yourself sleep, you offered your system something gentler?

A quiet acknowledgment:
“Of course you’re here.
Of course this feels vulnerable.
I’m listening.”

Vulnerability doesn’t need to be pushed through.
It needs safety.

And when the nervous system feels even a little more supported, sleep often follows in its own time. 🌙

💬 Curious to hear:
Have you noticed that your hardest nights often come after emotionally full days?

Big hug,
Carol 💛

Imagine carrying your whole day with you into the night.

The to-do list that never ended.
The conversation that stayed unfinished in your body.
The moments you pushed through, even when you were tired.

Then bedtime arrives…
and we expect sleep to magically happen.

For many people, sleep doesn’t struggle because of nighttime.
It struggles because the nervous system hasn’t had many chances to feel supported during the day.

Better sleep often starts earlier —
in the pauses, the exhale moments, the times you let yourself slow down.

Your nervous system notices those moments.
And it carries them into the night.

🌟 Let’s bring in some gratitude! 🌟

As we reflect on 2025, what are three things you’re truly grateful for this year? Gratitude has such a calming effect—it helps regulate our nervous systems and reminds us to focus on the good, even in challenging times.

For me, I’m incredibly grateful for:
1️⃣ The amazing members of the Better Sleep Community who’ve shared their journeys and transformations. 🌙
2️⃣ Quiet moments spent enjoying the little things in life. 🌸
3️⃣ The privilege of helping others create healthier sleep routines and wake up ready to thrive. 💛

What about you? What has filled your heart with gratitude this year? Share your three things in the comments—I’d love to celebrate with you.

Here’s to carrying this gratitude into 2026 and making it the year of your best sleep and best self!

Big hug,
Carol

Who’s that person who lifts your spirits just by being around them? What qualities do they have that make you feel truly seen and supported?

For me, I’d love to celebrate Nancy Forrester, the Director of the National EFT Training Institute of Canada. Whenever we connect—whether for training or mentoring—I feel deeply heard, understood, and seen. She has this incredible gift of attuning to others, truly listening to their words and energy.

I’ve learned so much just from watching how she engages with people. Her presence inspires me to grow, to listen better, and to show up as my best self. Thank you, Nancy, for the profound role you’ve played in both my personal and professional life. You’re a true light. 🌟

Now it’s your turn! Who’s your shout-out for today? Share in the comments!

Big hug,
Carol

What would it be like to go to bed tonight
trusting your body’s ability to sleep?

Not forcing it.
Not managing it.
Not watching the clock.

Just letting your nervous system do what it already knows how to do—
rest, repair, and find its own rhythm.

If sleep feels uncertain lately, maybe tonight isn’t about trying harder…
maybe it’s about offering your body a little more safety and trust.

What would that feel like for you? 🌙

✨ Looking ahead to 2026, what are 3 things you’d love to do more of this year? ✨

A new year brings new opportunities to focus on what truly matters. For me, 2026 is about living with intention and embracing what brings me joy.

Here’s what’s at the top of my list:

1️⃣ Spend more time with good people who lift me up. ❤️
2️⃣ Slow down and enjoy the little moments that make life beautiful. 🌸
3️⃣ Soak up more time on the beach—because there’s nothing like the sound of waves to calm the nervous system. 🌊

What about you? What are 3 things you’d love to welcome more of into your life in 2026? Share in the comments—I’d love to hear your dreams. 💬

Let’s make 2026 the year of connection, presence, and your best sleep yet.

Big hug,
Carol

How working with different energy modalities made me who I am today....

In May of 2010 I got my first introduction to energy work. I attended the level 1 reiki course with my mentor Marie Ange Michaud. To say that it changed my life is an understatement. Since then, I’ve attended workshops every year and reached my Reiki Master level in 2017. What Marie Ange teaches is for us to live a live by the 5 principles of Reiki which are:

  • Just for today I will not worry

  • Just for today I will not be angry

  • Just for today I will do my work honestly
