Is fasting just “eat less, move more” rebranded?

Not exactly. While fasting does involve periods of not eating, its benefits go far beyond simply reducing calories. Done thoughtfully, fasting can:

Support metabolic health by improving insulin sensitivity
Help regulate hunger hormones like ghrelin and leptin
Reduce inflammation and support cellular repair (hello, autophagy!)
Offer digestive rest and promote gut health
But here’s the thing—fasting isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. For women especially, fasting needs to be approached with care to avoid disrupting hormones or causing undue stress on the body.

If you’re considering fasting, it’s essential to understand your unique needs and health goals.

Your lab tests and blood work are only as valuable as the person interpreting them.

Getting standard blood work done is important—but if your practitioner is only looking for numbers that fall “within range” rather than optimal, you might be missing crucial insights into your health.

🌟 At Epione Health, we go beyond the numbers. We dive deep into your lab work and health history to provide personalized, actionable solutions that help you feel your best.

Let’s talk about the bright side of sun exposure 🌞—it’s not the enemy many make it out to be! In fact, safe sun exposure is essential for your health.

Here’s why:

Vitamin D production: The sun helps your body create this crucial vitamin, which supports bone health, immunity, and mood.
Improved sleep: Sunlight helps regulate your circadian rhythm, making it easier to fall asleep and wake up refreshed.
Mood booster: Natural light increases serotonin levels, which can help you feel more positive and focused.
Heart health: Moderate sun exposure may improve cardiovascular health by reducing blood pressure.
Of course, balance is key. Overexposure can harm your skin, so aim for 10-20 minutes of unprotected sun (depending on your skin type), then cover up or apply mineral sunscreen.

☀️ Let’s stop fearing the sun and start embracing its benefits—in moderation. Want more tips for optimizing your health naturally? Book a consultation today!

Burnout isn’t just about feeling “a little tired”—it’s a state of chronic exhaustion that impacts your body, mind, and spirit. If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, you might be burning the candle at both ends:

Constant fatigue, even after rest
Brain fog or difficulty concentrating
Increased irritability or feeling emotionally drained
Frequent headaches or muscle tension
Sleep disturbances—trouble falling asleep or staying asleep
Feeling detached, unmotivated, or overwhelmed
Here’s the thing: burnout doesn’t just go away on its own. You need to pause, recalibrate, and give your body the support it’s asking for.

✨ Here’s what to do:

Prioritize rest: Set boundaries to make time for restorative sleep.
Nourish your body: Focus on nutrient-rich foods to fuel your energy.
Get support: From friends, family, or a health practitioner who understands.
Stress management: Practice mindfulness, breathwork, or take nature walks.
Burnout is a signal, not a weakness. It’s your body’s way of saying it’s time for change.

Good morning to everyone—except the doctors (yes, even the female ones) who dismiss women’s health concerns by saying, “It’s normal to feel this way.”

Tired all the time? Moody? Brain fog? Heavy periods? You deserve better than being told it’s “just part of being a woman.”

These symptoms may be common, but they are NOT normal. Fatigue, hormone imbalances, nutrient deficiencies, or perimenopause could be behind the way you’re feeling—and they all have solutions.

At Epione Health, we believe you should be heard, validated, and supported. Your symptoms are your body’s way of asking for help, not something to ignore.

🌟 Let’s rewrite the narrative on women’s health. Book a consultation and discover what feeling good really means.

Feeling drained and can’t seem to recharge? It might not just be “normal fatigue”—it could be perimenopause knocking at your door.

Perimenopause, the transitional phase before menopause, often starts in your late 30s or 40s and comes with symptoms that can easily be mistaken for exhaustion, such as:

Low energy and constant fatigue
Brain fog and forgetfulness
Mood swings and irritability
Sleep disturbances
These symptoms occur due to fluctuating hormone levels, especially estrogen and progesterone, and can leave you feeling like you're running on empty.

The good news? You don’t have to navigate these changes alone. With personalized care and natural support, you can restore balance and feel like yourself again.

💡 Wondering if it’s fatigue or perimenopause? Let’s figure it out together. Book a consultation today and take the first step toward reclaiming your energy.

Are you feeling constantly tired despite getting enough sleep? 🌙 The culprit might not be your schedule—it could be a hidden nutrient deficiency. Common deficiencies that contribute to fatigue include:

Vitamin D: A sunshine vitamin that boosts energy and immunity.
Iron: Vital for carrying oxygen in your blood.
Omega-3s: Essential for brain health and reducing inflammation.
Vitamin B12: Supports red blood cell production and nervous system health.
Magnesium: Crucial for muscle function, relaxation, and energy production.
Your body relies on these nutrients to keep you energized and vibrant. If you're feeling depleted, it's worth exploring if you're getting enough.

When it comes to navigating menopause and perimenopause, I’m all in on HRT (hormone replacement therapy). It’s like the perfect partner—reliable, supportive, and makes you feel like the best version of yourself.

The truth is, menopause doesn’t have to be something we just “get through.” HRT can make all the difference in balancing hormones, managing symptoms, and even protecting long-term health (hello, heart and bones!). It’s not about masking symptoms—it’s about empowering you to feel good in your body again.

So yeah, if I’m “Taylor,” HRT is my Travis—there for me every step of the way.

Have questions about HRT? Let’s talk about how it could work for you. Menopause deserves more than survival mode—you deserve to thrive.

There’s a lot of misinformation out there about HRT (hormone replacement therapy), especially when it comes to breast cancer. Let me clear this up: HRT doesn’t cause breast cancer.

So, what does increase the risk?

Alcohol
Long-term use of birth control
High insulin, poor metabolic health, and being overweight
Shift work and poor sleep
Understanding the real risks is key to making informed decisions about your health. Let’s stop blaming HRT for things it doesn’t do and focus on what really matters: improving overall lifestyle habits and creating a proactive plan for long-term health. If you’re curious about whether HRT might be right for you, let’s talk.

In my 30s, I’m focusing on habits that help me feel good in my body now and as I age. Lifting weights is a non-negotiable for building strength and protecting my bones, and I always prioritize sleep because recovery is key. I make sure to eat enough protein to fuel my body, stay mobile with movement that feels good, and manage stress in ways that work for me. I’m also committed to doing the things I love and, most importantly, not obsessing over every small change—which, as a former “fat kid,” hasn’t always been easy. Aging well isn’t about chasing perfection; it’s about showing up consistently for yourself. These habits are my way of investing in my future self. What’s yours?
