Planning a summer vacation and cant commit to the full term? No problem!

Mastering Chaturanga in Arms and Abs class! 💪

Yoga is one of the six classical Darshanas, which can be understood as reflective experiences. Just as a mirror reveals our face, yoga reflects our inner selves, helping us see more clearly.

Imagine you’re at a dinner party and get a bit of food stuck in your front teeth—you’d need a friend or a mirror to notice it. Similarly, using vertical bricks (as shown in the video) provides an external reference point, helping us understand our habits and tendencies more objectively.

More than fifteen years ago, I stepped into my first yoga class hoping to learn how to sit still. I wanted a tool to help manage my busy mind so I turned to meditation—but what I found through Iyengar Yoga was so much more. It gave me a path, a practice, and a purpose.

Yoga Sutra 4:3

The skillful means of transforming our fundamental natures comes as a result of [a masterful Teacher], who like a Farmer, tends to their plants [students] by skillfully removing what blocks the flow of water to them. The Farmer [Teacher] is instrumental in facilitating this transformation, but does not directly bring it about.

nimittam-aprayojakaṃ prakṛtīnāṃ varaṇa-bhedaḥ tu tataḥ kṣetrikavat
