Being on a health journey stretches you in so many ways. I’ve learned a lot along the way about my health and my body, and how it responds to certain things. What I don’t want to put into my body, and what it needs.

The biggest realization is that you need to detox your body to get to the root of your issues. It’s a process, and not an easy one. When you’ve suffered for years with certain ailments, then it’s not just a quick fix! You have good days and bad days. You can’t expect to take some supplements for a month and you magically feel better! If you truly want to heal and get well, then you need to be prepared to commit and do what’s necessary. There’s no sugar coating it… do you want to get well? Are you prepared to do what’s necessary?

I see so many people, and I have LOTS of conversations with people, but most people aren’t ready to change, and that’s ok. It’s all on your own timing. When you’ve had enough, then you’ll be ready.

That’s where I am at, and that’s why I’m passionate about helping others get well.

What I eat in a day…

I try to eat a good breakfast, usually eggs with ham, sausage, or ground pork, and rice or fried potatoes or sweet potatoes. Food before coffee, or with coffee. I stopped drinking coffee on an empty stomach, because I can’t handle it anymore! Coffee naturally raises cortisol (your stress hormone). If you drink it first thing without food, it can exaggerate the spike and leave you feeling jittery, anxious, or shaky, which is what I was feeling. šŸ˜µā€šŸ’« It also messes with my blood sugar!

I started eating more nutrient dense meals at lunchtime to fill me up, especially on days when I work. I’ve been planning my meals (mostly!), so I have something prepared, otherwise I fail! Lentil soup is a favourite, because it’s easy, filling, and nutritious! I also love cooking a bunch of chicken legs to have in the fridge to eat with roasted veggies or salad.

Snacks are usually fruit, homemade protein bars, or my favourite… dates, nut butter, almond, chocolate drizzle, and then frozen. SO good! 🤤

For dinner I’ve been trying to keep to meat, sautĆ©ed or roasted veggies, and rice. Minimal sauces or anything prepared. Too much sugar and sodium makes me feel dehydrated, so I’m trying to avoid it. I’m not always perfect though!

Detox Update šŸ’› Day ??

I’ve lost count of the days, but I do know this: I’m feeling GOOD today! I had more energy, and things are definitely still flushing out šŸ™Œ

We spent some time at the beach today, and it was exactly what I needed. Fresh air, sunshine, and a chance to slow down.

One thing I’m learning through this detox is just how important it is to take time out—to rest, reset, and actually listen to what your body needs. Detoxing isn’t just about what you take out of your diet… it’s also about creating space for healing in your day.

I’m so excited to be starting this detox—my body has been begging for it. 🌿

I’ve been dealing with exhaustion, brain fog, migraines, anxiety, restless legs, and disrupted sleep and I’m tired of it!!

Last night, for the first time in forever, I slept through the night without waking up to p*e. šŸ™Œ

Not sure which magical herb is responsible, but
I can’t wait to see how I feel as I continue this detox journey!

Some of my delicious meals lately. šŸ¤¤šŸ˜

Going gluten free hasn’t been as hard as I thought it would be! Over the years, I’ve tried to eliminate gluten, but failed every time! I didn’t plan properly, so I failed. I caved because I didn’t know what to eat.

This time, I planned my meals for the first week, and the second week. I planned breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack options. We even ate out during this time and I did not cave! I was so proud of myself!

You might wonder why I decided to go gluten free? šŸ¤” I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was pregnant with my first born, almost 12 years ago, and then a few years later with Hashimoto’s. I have been doing a lot of research on how to best support my body and my symptoms, and it all points to gluten / dairy free, among other protocols.

Over the years I have tried many things, failed at many things, but now is the time to get serious! My body deserves better! So I am taking a deep dive on how to heal and put myself into remission. There’s a lot of information and advice out there, but I feel that I am on the right path.

I am excited to support my body, and symptoms in a new way, and see how it makes me feel! I plan to add in something new soon, so I will keep you posted!

I was planning on hibernating today, because it’s snowing and cold, but it seems like a shame to waste a good hair day. šŸ™ā€ā™€ļø

Been trying out my new fermented hair products and I’m in love. 🄰 My hair feels SO clean and lightweight.

I usually need to wash every day, otherwise my hair feels greasy and gross. I went two days and easily could have gone three, but wanted to try the AC rinse this morning, and also have clean hair for Monday morning. Trying to plan my week! To make life easier.

Do you have to wash every morning too? I’m thinking this problem may be a thing of the past! I’m so excited!! What’s your hair care routine?
