Your Acupuncturist is Back!
It has been a long few months without you and now I am finally able to open my clinic doors again! Hello! I've made a little video for you. I just wanted to pass along a tried-tested-true practice that has helped me many times during cold&flu season.

I just recently learned the story of how the rat became the first of the 12 animals of the lunar cycle :
The Emperor held a race, and the clever rat hitched a ride on the Ox until they neared the finish line, where he jumped off and won the race! Very opportunistic and well-played!

The Back-Shu Points in acupuncture are all located in the back of the body and are where Qi gathers. They are used to treat each organ's disorders.
- BL 13: Lung disorders
- BL 14: Pericardium disorders
- BL 15: Heart disorders
- BL 16: DU vessels Shu point governing Yang Qi all over the body.
- BL 17: TCM Blood disorders
- BL 18: Liver disorders
- BL 19: Gallbladder disorders
- BL 20: Spleen disorders (I made a mistake on the graphic! Darn! 😬)
- BL 21: Stomach disorders
- BL 22: San Jiao disorders
- BL 23: Kidneys disorders
- BL 24: Qi Hai (sea of Qi) Shu point regulates Qi & Blood especially in the Uterus (Women's reproductive hormones).
- BL 25: Large Intestine disorders
- BL 26: Guan Yuan (Gate of the source) Shu point regulates the lower jiao.
- BL 27: Small Intestine disorders
- BL 28: Urinary Bladder disorders

Other New-ness to mention : I have finally decided on a real business name and even registered it!
From here on out my TCM practice will be called

This is a great diagram to help answer the question I hear often :
So why do acupuncturists and TCM practitioners always want to look at my tongue ? 😛

Basic Tongue Diagnosis in TCM:
Tongue observation is one the major pillar of TCM diagnosis because it provides clearly visible clues to the patient’s disharmony. And it is quite reliable.

Tongue observation is based on 4 items:
- The body colour: indicates the condition of blood, Qi & Yin organs.
- The body shape: indicates the state of blood & Nutritive Qi.
- The coating: indicates the state of the yang organs and pathogens.
- The moisture: indicates the state of the body fluids.

Tongue Map Areas: various areas of the tongue reflects the state of the organs.
- Tip: Heart
- Front: Lung
- Centre: Spleen & Stomach
- Sides: Liver & Gallbladder
- Root (back): Kidneys, Bladder, Small and large intestines.
