E-RYT 200 YACEP The way we think and perceive our bodies, minds and circumstances become our truth.

Welcome to the home of YINstillYOGA…
My passion for yoga began over 15 years ago and so far, during that short journey, I have found that through yoga, we have the ability to make positive changes in our life. And it is in the practice of yoga where we learn to support, love and nurture ourselves, practice self-care each day for our minds to find balance, our bodies to harness strength, and our he

arts to be open. For over 10 years I have been studying and practicing yogic wisdom – a body of knowledge on how to have a full and expansive yoga practice... physically, mentally, emotionally. Over the years, my amazing teachers have taught me much, including how to pass this wisdom on. It is through this knowledge that I empower everyone in class to learn and to grow… making yoga accessible for us all. Whether you are a beginner or seasoned yogi, my classes offer a space in which you can deepen your practice and draw upon your personal needs. I offer an all-levels Hatha Yoga class, which is the practice of physical postures, designed to align, balance and calm your body, mind and spirit. I also offer a Yin Yoga class that compliments your active life – a passive, meditative style of yoga that cultivates stillness and embodies physical and mental spaciousness with longer held poses. I teach weekly public classes at The Lewis Center in downtown Courtenay as well as special series classes at The d’Esterre House in downtown Comox. Welcome and Namaste.

To all the moms, grand & great grandmothers, stepmoms, foster moms, pet moms, and to those special women who are like moms, and to those who have lost their moms.
Taking time on this weekend, in celebration of Mother’s Day tomorrow, to reflect, appreciate, and have gratitude for the amazing women who inspire us, support us, and who shaped us.
Happy Mother’s Day 🌷💓

One of my favourite meditations that I return to again and again.

A compass is a symbol — a quiet reminder that we are on the right path. That we are guided, supported, and held in this life, no matter which way we turn.

Try this simple practice:

Turn your head to the right
The East symbolises new beginnings
Breathe in
Breathe out
Send love to all who walk beside you and support you
Return your head to centre
Breathe in
Breathe out

Turn your head to the left
The West symbolises endings and release
Breathe in
Breathe out
Send love to all who have walked with you, in this life or beyond
Return your head to centre
Breathe in
Breathe out

Lift your head upward
The North symbolises guardianship
Breathe in
Breathe out
Send love to those who watch over you
Return your head to centre
Breathe in
Breathe out

Bring your chin gently towards your chest
The South symbolises self nourishment
Breathe in
Breathe out
Send gratitude to yourself for showing up
Send love and appreciation to all that you are
Return your head to centre
Breathe in
Breathe out

You might like to pair this with gentle neck stretches, throat massage, or myofascial release into the occiput, frontalis, and temporalis.

I’ll be exploring MYO + Yin in my upcoming Yin series.
Join one or come along for the full journey.

Each class includes a downloadable recording to keep, a detailed lesson plan, and plenty of ideas to take straight into your own teaching.

“How to Move the Needle: The Six Moves that Matter Most
If the quality of your rebuild comes down to the metabolic environment you’re living in, here are the six highest-leverage places to start.
1. Build muscle — and protect what you have.
Add it, evolve it, never stop it.
2. Get your fasting insulin tested.
Ask your doctor, or order it out of pocket. It’s the earliest warning signal in the system.
3. Eat protein first — and eat enough of it.
Aim for 30–40 grams per meal, and eat it before the carbohydrates. This one sequence change blunts blood sugar spikes and starts every meal by supporting the rebuild.
4. Make your nervous system shift gears — daily.
And every single day — through breathwork, somatic movement, or any practice that reliably moves you from fight-or-flight to rest-and-digest. Five minutes is enough to move the needle.
5. Protect the sleep window.
Shifting your bedtime by even 30 minutes and dimming light in the evening can measurably change your hormonal repair cycle.
6. Feed your gut lining every week.
Aim for 30 different plant foods per week — not for calories, but for fiber diversity.
None of these are complicated. All of them compound. Start with the one that feels most underdeveloped in your life right now — and build from there.”
