E-RYT 200 YACEP The way we think and perceive our bodies, minds and circumstances become our truth.

Welcome to the home of YINstillYOGA…
My passion for yoga began over 15 years ago and so far, during that short journey, I have found that through yoga, we have the ability to make positive changes in our life. And it is in the practice of yoga where we learn to support, love and nurture ourselves, practice self-care each day for our minds to find balance, our bodies to harness strength, and our hearts to be open. For over 10 years I have been studying and practicing yogic wisdom – a body of knowledge on how to have a full and expansive yoga practice... physically, mentally, emotionally. Over the years, my amazing teachers have taught me much, including how to pass this wisdom on. It is through this knowledge that I empower everyone in class to learn and to grow… making yoga accessible for us all. Whether you are a beginner or seasoned yogi, my classes offer a space in which you can deepen your practice and draw upon your personal needs. I offer an all-levels Hatha Yoga class, which is the practice of physical postures, designed to align, balance and calm your body, mind and spirit. I also offer a Yin Yoga class that compliments your active life – a passive, meditative style of yoga that cultivates stillness and embodies physical and mental spaciousness with longer held poses. I teach weekly public classes at The Lewis Center in downtown Courtenay as well as special series classes at The d’Esterre House in downtown Comox. Welcome and Namaste.

“The first full Moon of 2026 reminds us that we each have a voice—to claim what we need, to release what we are ready to leave behind & to trust that making space is just as powerful as setting intentions.
You’re not building anything new yet. You’re simply opening your hands & letting go of what you have been carrying that is too heavy, too old, or too small for the version of yourself you are becoming. The full Moon is not the time to set intentions. It’s the time to make space. To clear out what no longer serves you. To release old patterns, emotions & stories so that when it’s time to set your intentions, you have space to work with.”

The Winter Solstice has arrived — the longest night of the year.
Tonight, Earth reaches a quiet turning point in its journey around the Sun. Where the night reaches its peak, winter stands still, and the return of light begins.
It remains a reminder written into the cosmos: light never disappears… it waits.
Happy Winter Solstice.

Tonight marks the Winter Solstice — the longest night of the year.

As Earth reaches a key point in its orbit, the Sun appears at its lowest path across the sky. Darkness lingers longer than on any other night.

But this is not just an ending — it’s a turning point.
From this moment forward, each day brings a little more light.

For thousands of years, cultures around the world have honored this night as a symbol of pause, reflection, and renewal — a quiet reminder that even in the deepest darkness, the return of light has already begun.

🌌 Longest night
🌅 First promise of longer days
❄️ A cosmic reset

“When Christmas Finds You Anyway”
(A poem for anyone going through something this year)

Some years,
Christmas doesn’t look the way you pictured.
The house is quieter,
the table feels smaller,
and life has written chapters
you never meant to read.

But somehow…
Christmas finds you anyway.

It slips in through the soft glow of the tree,
through the smell of something warm in the oven,
through a memory that catches you off guard
and makes your eyes fill with tears.

It finds you in the people who stayed,
in the strength you didn’t know you had,
in the way your heart keeps learning
how to break
and still stay open.

It finds you in the simple things—
a mug in your hands,
a blanket over your knees,
a song you haven’t heard in years
that somehow knows your whole story.

Because Christmas isn’t always loud
or glittery
or full.

Sometimes it’s gentle.
Sometimes it’s healing.
Sometimes it’s a light
that shows up right when you needed reminding
that you’re not walking this season alone.

So if this year looks different…
If you’re grieving,
or rebuilding,
or learning how to begin again—
I hope Christmas finds you anyway.

And I hope it brings peace
to the places that still hurt,
and warmth
to the places that feel cold.

If your heart feels full, tired, hopeful, or unsure right now… you’re not alone.
December has a way of stirring quiet questions:

What’s still bringing you peace? What’s become too heavy to carry?
You don’t have to figure it all out at once.
This season isn’t asking for perfection…just a little space to feel what’s true.
Let yourself take it slowly. Grace belongs here. ❤️
