Did you know that anyone involved in a motor vehicle accident is automatically approved for chiropractic care?

In both Courtenay and Campbell River, I work with ICBC to offer direct billing and direct access to their early access health care services to any patients who have been involved in an accident. All patients are automatically approved for 25 chiropractic appointments over the first 12 weeks following an accident and all appointments are COMPLETELY covered by ICBC with no additional fees to the patient. If care is needed beyond these 12 weeks, we will ensure that treatment plans and extension requests are submitted to ICBC on time to ensure continued access to our services.

So grateful for everyone in the organization for allowing me to be involved in building this organization from the ground up and thankful for all the hard work they have (and continue to) put in. I've posted recently about treatment of neck pain so let's have a look at what the highest levels of research have to say about it. Flip through ➡️ to learn more!

To summarize, neck pain is common and can cause prolonged disability. There a number of different risk factors that are identified, lots of which are psychosocial in nature. Guideline-recommended treatment almost always includes a combination of manual therapy and exercise. Prevention of neck pain may not always be possible but managing risk factors may help and the best strategies remain an active, healthy lifestyle with lots of movement!

Service Spotlight: TPI Golf Performance and Injury Management ⛳

Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) is a system for golf performance and injury management that operates off of a collaborative, team approach between golf pros, fitness professionals, and medical professionals such as myself. The system utilizes the concept of the "body-swing connection" to see if any physical limitations may be causing certain swing characteristics, and if pain or injury is playing a role at either end. By assessing what a golfer can and can't do with their body, we can utilize the TPI approach to help that golfer swing easier, improve performance, and limit or rehab pain or injury.
