There are wonderful mental health resources beyond my practice. The Y provides online programs for BC residents, even if they prioritize promotion within their specific region first. Currently there are spots for both Teen and Youth groups.

How many people believe that we need mental health and wellness education from elementary to postsecondary school to contribute to the cultural shift that is needed?
The current model is focused on crisis: wait for a crisis, then wait for a mental health professional. Government funding for youth mental health goes to mental health organizations and crisis organizations and not schools.
We need an educational model focused on preventative, proactive, and practical intersectional mental health and wellness and self and community care approaches.

I keep taking to clients who are filled with a sense of existential dread about the direction of global events. While I want to make room for that, I also want to consider the perspective that there are people and organizations who are lighting a candle in the darkness.
I am going to post a weekly testament to that.
