💗 A Personal Update 💗
Did you know that 1 in 8 women in Canada will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime? I am now one of them.
In late spring, I found a lump in my left breast and learned it was cancerous early this summer. On August 21st, I had a lumpectomy to remove it. I can’t say enough about the incredible, caring staff at the Comox Valley Hospital—their support was absolutely top-notch. ❤️
I’m grateful to say I’ve healed well from surgery, and I went back to teaching this week. It felt great to be back. 🥰
Now, I wait—anywhere from one to three months—to see an oncologist and learn what comes next, whether radiation, chemo, or both. If you’ve been through this journey, you know the waiting is the hardest part.
Through it all, I’m doing everything I can to stay strong physically and, most importantly, mentally. I often think of the resilience it took to keep Studio IPF afloat during Covid. That was my training ground for the uncertainty I face now. I’ve doubled down on my healthy habits, and I feel strong and grounded.
The road ahead may be long, but I know I’ll get through it with the love and support of my family, friends, the amazing IPF teaching team, and our incredible community.
Thank you—I feel your love, and it means the world to me. ❤️❤️❤️
