Aerial Yoga/Fitness uses an aerial silk hung as a hammock, supporting your body through a variety of poses and strengthening exercises. The silk provides support for deep stretches, while giving you something to hold on to, so you have control over how far to sink into each pose. Anyone, at any fitness level, can do aerial fitness !! The silk also provides support for your back while doing exercises to increase core strength. In aerial yoga, the silk allows you to participate in a variety of inversions that many people find too difficult to do without support, such as handstands. Final savasana is always a favourite as you will feel safe, supported and cocooned! As someone who was not a ‘yoga lover’, I am so excited to bring you aerial yoga and fitness. Using the silk provides an element of fun and novelty to regular exercises. The silk is an excellent support tool to create stabilization for standing, kneeling and floor poses- and it’s just so much fun!
