March is also Liver Health Month in Canada
Roughly three million Canadians have a liver disease, according to the Canadian Liver Foundation. Since it’s Liver Health Month, they explain why the liver is a vital organ, shed light on liver problems and share tips on taking care of your liver.
The liver’s core functions are metabolizing fats and proteins, removing toxins from the body’s blood supply, and stabilizing chemical levels in the blood.
You’re at higher risk of liver problems if you’re overweight, have diabetes or high cholesterol, or drink lots of alcohol.
Symptoms of liver problems are itchy skin, easy bruising or bleeding, dark urine, abdomen pain, loss of appetite, chronic fatigue, and nausea. If you have these symptoms, talk to your doctor.

March is Kidney Health Month
As Kidney Health Month gets underway, The Kidney Foundation of Canada is calling on Canadians to take meaningful action to protect their kidney health. This call for action leads into World Kidney Day 2026, taking place on March 12, when the global community unites to promote prevention, early detection, and sustainable kidney care solutions.

Canadians are encouraged to know the risk factors for kidney disease and to take action to get tested for kidney disease if they think they are at risk. Risk factors include diabetes, high blood pressure, being overweight or obese and having a family history of kidney disease.

March is recognized globally as Endometriosis Awareness Month, dedicated to increasing understanding of the chronic disease affecting over 1 in 10 (roughly 190 million) girls and women worldwide. It aims to reduce the average 7–8 year diagnostic delay, educate the public that severe period pain is not "normal," and advocate for better research and care.
