Is it hard work reflecting on our past year “Trevie”? My dog seems to think so.

It felt SO Good to have the opportunity to hold space for and partake in our workshop this evening.

I wasn’t sure if my art piece would be about 2022 or if it would be moved to look into an element of 2023.

It turns out that we created something that looks forward. Another surprise for me was the size of the image. I thought I’d be creating a small image perhaps with felt pens or pastels. But the image wanted to engage with something more gentle and liquid. So I ended up painting this evening.

What a joy to be able to share in this space. I’m grateful to our participants tonight and for the ways in which we could hold space for one another.

Thank you to the contributors to this "Haunted Forest Halloween" walk. I love the feeling of lightness and creativity that I felt when walking through this space. Creative potential and opportunity offers spaciousness, capacity inspiration and joy.

When I was based in Vancouver, my favourite thing to do at Halloween was the parade of Lost Souls. I'll look forward to contributing to this creative space next year ❤. I hope that you'll be able to feel spaciousness and opportunity.

Creativity and soul for creativity's sake.

A playful piece that came to me during our Self-Compassion Workshop this evening.

This is an image that shows paper airplanes of self doubt flying through the air. "Have I Got This?" They say as they fly. Or maybe they're comets. Phew- Zshwew -Zshwew they go by quickly.

On the tail is a reminder "Yoohooo! Turn around! You've got this!" The word Ancestors and air marks around it.

Ancestors has some weight. I feel grounded. There are orange balls that represent Boulders, grounded in the earth, red earth, water. Ancestors from a land faraway. Zai na yao yuan de difang. A Chinese song comes to mind.

I am connected to the earth. I am held by mother earth. I have a safe and grounded container. I am connected to my ancestors and welcome them to be with me.

I am strong.

I've got this.

Healing our communities begins with better understanding ourselves.

In this safe held space we will have the opportunity to explore our identities and ancestry.

We will have the chance to have sometimes difficult conversations about race, ancestry, complex identities, privilege and oppression.

No experience is needed in these themes or with the expressive arts to join.

Come and join this learning community, where we can feel safe to learn, unlearn and make mistakes as we begin or continue our journey in awareness, reflection and healing around our identities.
