Just in case people don't know the face behind the page, I'd like to introduce myself!
My name is Michaela Knibbs, and I live with my husband, 2 cats and 1 dog in Cypress River, MB. I work in Notre Dame de Lourdes at Aspen Winds/Vents de Tremble as the Executive Director and the Notre Dame Foyer as a Health Care Aide. I have worked in healthcare for 10 years now, and in that time I have definitely learned that my place in life is to help people. Another thing that I have learned about myself is that I LOVE to learn and to pass that knowledge onto others.
It was a no brainer when I found it hard to find a First Aid Instructor for my staff, that I take the courses and be able to teach it myself!
I would say that the main reason that I originally started teaching was to make sure my staff was up to date, but it has come up in many situations that I was so glad and fortunate to have the knowledge that I do! Living in a rural area, emergency services may take longer to reach us, and knowing what to do in the meantime can save valuable lives.
