Oh no...say it isn't so! My very most favourite dancing boots are biting the dust. I've mended them several times, but the soles are both worn through and coming away from the boot. Who knows a reasonably priced cobbler here or in Q.

Went to my first Rock and Roll Jamboree this weekend and danced over 55,000 steps on Saturday and over 45,000 on Friday. Fitbit allotted me the Cowboy Boots badge, which amused me.

(55K steps is 34 km or 22 miles.) Maybe it's time to question my sanity 😊. Danced pretty much non stop while the bands played from 12:30 til 11 pm....even better than Nashville... though dancing in Nashville goes on day after day. 🤔

Good morning dear people. It is with a bit of sadness, along with some excitement, that I am here to announce that Circa 1894 B&B and Day Spa is now closed down. This due to the length of time that Covid has stretched out, and how it affected the two businesses, both of which have made my heart sing, as I welcomed guests, over these last 6 years. To continue to pay the bills, I've turned to long term rentals. And, with that, I've decided to follow through with my long time dream of taking to the road in a converted Camper, my Ford Transit. My space in the church is not yet, as of this posting, sublet, but that is one of the final steps to be completed before I leave next month. If you know of anyone looking for a winter rental, the ad is up on Kijiji. Thanks to each of you for the wonderful support over the years. I wish you all happiness in your journey. Be well.

For those of you who are wondering:

The Day Spa is not considered an essential service and is, therefore, closed temporarily. We are, however, booking for time slots beyond the expected shut down.

The B&B remains open. Please read on to understand how we are doing this while maintaining, as much as possible, social distancing.

For the next few weeks, as people are choosing to limit their exposure to others, while at the same time wanting to get out and find ways to relax and rejuvenate, we will be taking reservations from only one group of guests (or individual guest) at a time, with thorough sanitization of all surfaces between guests.

Please Note: B&B Guests: Only one of our three guest rooms will be booked for any particular overnight for an individual or couple (or as many rooms as needed, if your group is larger).

No additional meals will be offered, other than breakfast, which is included in the price. For a small additional fee, access to the Saunas can be made available. (Finnish, NIR and FAR). The tubs are closed.

To our friends and guests wondering whether Circa 1894 B&B and Day Spa is open:
We plan to fully open effective April 1st. (Call if you need to have infra-red sooner and we’ll arrange something.)
For the next few weeks, as people are choosing to limit their exposure to others, while at the same time wanting to get out and find ways to relax and rejuvenate, we will be taking reservations from only one group of guests (or individual guest) at a time, with thorough sanitization of all surfaces between guests.
As examples:
For B&B Guests: Only one of our three guest rooms will be booked for any particular overnight for an individual or couple (or as many rooms as needed, if your group is larger) and no meals will be offered, other than breakfast.
Day Spa Guests: While the hot tubs are not yet open, the NIR and FAR Infra-red saunas are open by the hour for those needing them, again a limit of one group/individual during any specific period. Of interest is that the virus is said not to survive at temperatures over 26/27 degrees, while the FAR Infra-red sauna reaches 55 degrees and higher.

As I ready for our newest adventure (heading off on Monday to AZ for 3 months, living full time in our motor home), I enjoyed this article which speaks to repeating experiences (which, when it comes to travelling south for the winter, I hope to do over the next decade or so).
