So in regards to yesterday's question asked regarding the no GoGo Machine.
Back history of it...
Customer brought it in saying it was blowing heavy wet snow and it just died he attempted numerous times to get it going replacing the spark plug attempted to remove the valve cover and stopped after removing 2 bolts and 2 wouldn't remove he decided it was going to potentially more then he wanted to get into. So it's brought to me. So as per usual i go through my check list oil level ✅️, Fuel ✅️, spark (brand name) ✅️, the oil was clean and proper level, the fuel unsure of age so drain clean the carb and replace with fresh stabilized fuel, the spark tester showed good healthy spark yet the machine wouldn't start just popping and occasional backfire every time I tried starting it. Next step was to check the setting on the valves so I did a reset of them just incase so I would know it was done attempted to start again doing the same thing no GoGo just pop, pop, pop hmmm scratching my head okay let's check the Valves again and also checked the carburetor again still nothing still have good spark, oil good and fuel good along with proper fuel flow now left scratching my head What am I missing here the fuel is good, spark good and the valves have been set. Next idea let's remove the spark plug and check for any obvious damage using my magnifine glass I thoroughly check the porcelain for a fracture everything seemed okay the lightbulb came on check the gap on the spark plug. Low and behold the gap seemed to be way to much so I reset it reinstalled it and boom she was alive. So after many attempts of starting and shutting off it seems the issue was solved some thing so simple caused this issue. Customer comes and gets it he said he had gapped the spark plug according to the manual. Fire it up drive it in his trailer no problem another happy customer or so I thought. A short time later he calls and said I went to start it to drive it into it's storage location and it wouldn't start just doing the same thing so while on the phone he happened to have another spark plug for it so he did a swap and bang it started right up so in the end the best I can determine is the brand new plug he purchased ended up being a defective spark plug. It is rare but it can happen.
