Priority First Aid provides services at beautiful locations throughout Nova Scotia. Since 2020 we have been providing first aid coverage on Georges Island for Parks Canada.

Here is the view from work today.

This week ACTAR taught at the North Grove. In 2023-2024 The North Grove provided over 32,000 meals and snacks to community members!

We are happy to look after the first aid training and defibrillators at North Grove!

Today ACTAR was teaching on the Halifax Waterfront. A nice group of students, a great facility and a great view.

Ice is rarely uniform in thickness. It can be a foot thick in one place and only an inch thick just 10 feet away.

As well, different types of ice may not be able to support as much weight as others. New ice that is clear or blue in color is considered the strongest and sturdiest, while white or grey ice tends to be significantly weaker.

When measuring ice, make sure you measure multiple locations, and wear a lifejacket in case the ice breaks under you.

Here are the recommended minimum ice thickness measurements, so you can work and play safely on the ice this winter!
