Body tension:
Tension in the body is a protection that is adapted from stressful life experiences.
In somatic yoga we practice pandiculation, which re-patterns the brain to muscle connection, removing layers of stress, so we can regain control of our muscles resulting in freedom of movements.

Pendiculation, the main somatic movement is:
1. A contraction into the tightness of muscles. This brings feedback to the brain.
2. A slow release; the brain is reintroduced to the muscle length and function.
3. Relaxation.
This improves mobility, function and reduces pain

That’s exactly what we did tonight when we arrived for class as the centre had double booked and we were bumped. For those that were still there I negotiated us an outdoor class and it was a lovely evening under the trees. Thanks for playing with me.
